The Leveling Kit Thread
Yes sir. Those are still the factory tires and size. I'll wait till they wear out to look at a larger tire size. But I'm definitely sticking with the factory 20" rims!
Hey guys, I have an 09 FX4 with the 2.5” RC kit. It’s been on a couple years now. It’s been pretty great for the most part. Smooth on the roads and at speeds on the highways. But if I take a sharp, or off camber turn or the turn has a bump in it, (mostly left turns), I get a weird scrubbing sound, the TCS symbol comes on and it cuts power. It doesn’t happen on all turns. Just some turns and usually when I’m carrying some speed into it. I had the truck aligned, it seemed to help some but still happens on occasion. Anybody have any insight on this?
I love our stock 20's. I just didn't want it to look like there was too much wheel well showing while I wait to wear out my tires. I only have 25k on the stock tires.
Bilstein with spacer (please excuse the dirty truck, it started snowing as soon as I got the truck home and took the picture).
Stock
I ended up doing 1/2” spacer and then 5100 Bilateins set at 1.75”. Oddly, I ended getting 7/16” of an inch more than I thought I would. The Bilateins have only been on a few hours and about 20 miles. I am thrilled with the results.. There is no “harshness” but the recovery is quicker and the body roll is less.
Final measurements as of today:
STOCK:
Front: 37 3/16”
Rear: 40 5/8”
Bilstein 1.75” with 1/2” spacer
Front: 39 7/8”
Rear: 40 1/4”
I was hoping for 1” of rake. Maybe if the Bilateins settle a little I will get that, but I couldn’t be happier with the ride.
For anyone considering this, the spacer was $25 from EBay and is powder coated billet aluminum.
Eventually gonna get some new tires and wheels!!!
Has anyone else go with the motofab 2.5 on a 2016 4x4 and end up nose high??? Should I swap them out for the 2 inch or just add a 1 inch block in the rear

I would add the 1" bigger block in the rear, probably cheaper than switching level kits.
