Default The Leveling Kit Thread

Hey everyone!

I now have a 2015 5.0 XLT and I'm looking to install a 2.5 inch level kit on it.

I'm hearing mixed opinions like: over 2 inch, things might break or that I have to get a kit with rear blocks, etc...

What is the proper way to go without issues? Which previous year kits fit the new model? I have 33 inch tires with 18's I want to put on it.

What setup are you guys running (leveling kits only please) ?

Thanks in advance and pointers will be appreciated.

AFter 2.5" Rough Country level install. Front measures: 39.5(25.8 from hub), rear measures: 39.75(26 from hub) to fender. Also went with 15% window tint across the board.*

curious about this too, also how about adding how easy it was to install each of the kits, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5. i know on my 2011 the 2.0 kit was a pain, so i had my friend order a 1.5 and it was a lot easier to put in.

So you replaced the rear block with a 1" block right? How big was the stock one?

I am getting a 2.5" Rough Country lift for the front along with an additional 1" block and new spring for the back, to go with some K02 BFG's next week.

Make sure they sent you some U bolts for the blocks. I couldn't install mine because they didn't come with U bolts. The guy at RC said we have kits with U bolts and kits without U bolts. I asked him why you buy blocks without U bolts.......to which he no answer.

Here is mine with a 2.5 level. I am a 1/4 inch higher in the front, but I did have a few things in the back.

Can you post pics when you get this done? I plan on doing the same once my truck comes in! What tire size are you going with?

I believe 285/60/r20's are being installed on the platinum rims. I will definitely be doing some photos once it is finished.

Here is some good info on leveling kits and installs. First is the video of a 2 inch auto spring leveling kit. Then the install of a coil over leveling kit.

Here are some pictures of our 2015 FX4 Ecoboost on 295-65-18s on stock rims.
