My F150 report.......something new, I guess the battery light illuminated this morning for a short while. She said the truck started and ran fine, but the light was on 10 minutes into the ride to work before it went out. The alternator is original, so it could go anytime. The battery is a 10 year battery and that's between 9 and 10 currently so... It could be either or. I think it's the battery most likley, since the light went out like it did (10 min into the ride). But, - during the cold snap, she reported earlier the truck made a groaning sound after start that went away withing a minutes time. That's prob the power steering but I guess it could be an alternator pulley, belt or tensioner . Yea, seems like a stretch..I'd have to go with battery at the moment.

Yeah.... alternator bearing sounds more like you've installed a supercharger, lol. Isn't your battery fairly new?

Thought I mentioned it, well it's a 10 year battery that's between 9 and 10 currently. I also thought alternator for another reason, I was under the impression the light comes on when the alts not putting out what it should. The truck started fine she said. The trucks sits more than it's driven, it'll sit for days, possibly a week plus.

Well, she's at work, I asked her to start it again before she leaves. She's working a double today, don't want her stuck there at 11pm at night or just as bad, without lights on the way home. Anyway, I want to make sure it starts and have her look at the idiot gauge, tell me where it's at , what it's doing if anything, then confirm whether the light comes back on again. Man , I don't want to drive out there today lol.

Nice decoration! I still am watching eBay for an Iditarod AK plate. For now I just have the TX plate from my Highboy, a 1776 AK plate, and an Iditarod trail marker sign

Fordguy, have you heard anything about Ford bringing back the high boy. Heard a rumor on forums, haven't checked into yet.

Could be, Brew. Maybe not in name, but I saw this article recently - https://www.tfltruck.com/2019/01/rep...e-power-wagon/

I've renewed my thoughts on installing and Expy console, especially now that I'm looking for a good place to mount a dual-band radio, and I'm thinking that the HVAC control panel location would be just about perfect. I found a gray one on car-part yesterday, and they sent me pics this morning. I think I might keep looking.

Not sure if that's about the 7.3 or something else. The 7.3 was rumored a 7.0 at first, Ford surprised us with the 7.3 recently. That article is 3 weeks back so not sure what that's about. It could be the engine news or something different (highboy). You see it differently ?
