They are Germany... least it says so on the back lol. Well they must've been a decent brand cuz we've had the wife's escape for 5.5yrs and never touched the bulbs.

Which is why I got new turn signal bulbs... they still work but the amber coating as flake off, annoyed I have to take off the fender aprons to access them.

I'm leaving the fogs alone as she rarely uses them and they still work

I got to mine without removing anything..... but I remember my hands not liking it though. That door is a pain to get on and off.

(Did you read my "EDIT" on my previous post that you quoted?)

I don't think it's possible without removing it but I'll double check. From the top the turn signal is behind the metal framing on the fender. Maybe I can snake up from the bottom tho.

Ah just read it.... seems like that would explain why your Sylvania bulbs have been going out so quick. So far I'm impressed with the Nightvisions. I'm excited to get them in my truck and put some miles on them

Wonder if there's more clearance on a 4 cylinder? I might have taken the battery out for the drivers side. If I had the POS here, I'd go look. It is hopefully going to be back tomorrow.

Long story short there.... the diff grenaded after my Buddy put it back together. Now it has a new diff, new forward planet with 4 gears instead of 3 (added stability) new valve body, new solenoid pack, and now a new flex plate. The damn flex plate busted putting it back in - and for some DAMN reason, that flex plate is dealer only.

I should've taken the battery out to do the hi and low beams... my handed would've thanked me lol. PS was easy enough tho.

I'll get some pics tomorrow. But I'm almost positive the turn signal is completely boxed off

Dang well hopefully when you get it back you won't have any more issues with it!

How much was the flex plate from Ford Whitey? I see Summit has it in ATP, #Z620.

There is no clear cut info on that flex plate. It does not specifically state that it will fit an Escape with a 2.3 anywhere that I have seen. I didn't get too intense on the search because they are backordered until the middle of January anyway (and that is according to Summit). ATP's website doesn't even list it, period - which makes me think it's discontinued.

Transtar and WIT say it is dealer only.

I got it back tonight. Put about 60 miles on it, and it's a dream! There was always a slight whine to it that is now gone too. Must have been that diff.

Man, what a mess, white! Glad it's back together and working, though. Still le$$ than a new vehicle.

Installed an HID upgrade in one side of the Jeep last evening. Holy moly, what a difference! Maybe a projector retrofit for the F150 would be worth it!
