Just smooth it down (if needed) so it won't interfere with the pump seating flush against the block, and it will be fine since it's outside the seal made by the o-ring.

EDIT: Be sure to lube up that o-ring with a *light* coat of silicone o-ring lube or some anti-freeze before pushing the pump into place.

Thanks, I was thinking since it's after the o-ring it would be fine. Will definitely make sure it's smooth so it mates well. I will be sure to check the inside for any pitting. I will jump straight to the RTV if I do. Lol. And thanks I'll lube it up to make sure I get a good seat.

I placed a small fillet here, so when I tightened down the pump, only a *very* small bit squeezed out.

Does anyone have the part number for the 35mm spindle nut? Everywhere I look wants to sell me the 615-072 which is too small for the front spindle.

Wasn't feeling too swift last night.... had a lot of stomach issues, so I called in sick. First time in probably 4 years. Anyway, it looks like I wouldn't have been able to go in at normal time anyway. There was a big accident on I-80 that caused 2 hour delays. Woulda been sitting in my truck for a couple hours had I gone.....

Ohio and 2100.... what brand pumps did you guys go with? Just curious.

EDIT: It rained last night, and turned to this 3.5 hours ago. So the roads are a mess. Mind you, I had no snow at all yesterday. So all of this is from this morning. And it is supposed to go until 9:00 pm.

I would say send some of that my way but snow in the south pretty much spells snowpacalypse for the roads. Lol

We'll take all of that we can get here! (Just not this week/weekend. I'm going out of town ,and I've never taught my wife how to plow with the ATV! )

Sorry you're not feeling well white. I had a 24+hour bug a week or two back. Knocked me on my ****, it did.

EDIT: The pump in mine is a Murray. Installed by the dealership when they dropped in the remanned motor.

I got a duralast from autozone (only thing I could get last night) and today I'm still fighting breaking loose the fan clutch broke my strap wrench and now trying to find a ride to autozone to rent the dang fan clutch tool.... I know I know I should've picked it up last night; I'm kicking myself a ton right now but I thought the strap wrench would work.... it did for like 10 people on YouTube. Also tried "shocking" it with a wrench and hammer but my pulley just spins. Everyone else's seem to hold it tight enough. Oh yeah and I'm Doing this all outside with a windchill of -4... yay me

Had to bust out the two stage Craftsman today..... the little single stage Toro was struggling to throw the wet snow. It stopped for about 15 minutes, but it's starting again right now, lol. Probably have 8 or 9 inches right now.

I had a helluva time braking my fan clutch loose. I'm weird - and I actually have TWO fan clutch wrenches. I finally doubled them up and put my 1/2 breaker bar into both of them break it loose.

After all of that crap, I remembered a trick that I used on my Ranger. That big "fork" looking tool that holds the water pump stable kept slipping off the damn bolts.... So I took the pulley bolts out and put some fender washers on it to hold the fork thing in place. It worked pretty slick, and would have saved my knuckles on this last one I did on the Eff-One-Fiddy.
