Go big or go home, lol. That would be an interesting swap. My Buddy had a 99 SD with a V10 that he bought brand new. It would light up the 35 inch BFG's no problem. I couldn't believe the torque that thing had.
Seems like he said 425 ft. lbs?
I don't recall the numbers, but yea, they had some torque. I can count V10 swaps in the past one hand, - just 3 that I've seen. All successful. The 2V V10's anyway. That would something to see in the 3V version. Same numbers or very close to the lightnings. And that's comparing NA to Charged lol.
Welp.... we ain't in Kansas anymore, Toto. Snow is on its way to the valley floor, and this is the top of the mountain above my house, currently. This particular place in called Farnsworth's Peak, and it is home to several Television and Radio broadcasting antennas. I was really hoping it would wait until November, lol...... crap.
Okay, I remember that guy now, remember him well. That's ishootstuff, we've had some good conversations in the past lol. I believe he quit posting on that site around the same time did. I remember the vid too, the seagull crap on the door triggered everything. It was like iduno, -Pooffssttt!
Btw- thanks for digging that up kd4. Even though that was meant for white, brought back a timed out memory lol.
We had 1/2" of snow last night, so I guess it's official. The furnace is on as well.
I ordered two front hubs from RA yesterday. The left one has gotten bad enough that it's now making noise in parking lots, so I guess I know what I'm doing this weekend. I've done it before (on the '99) but it was long enough ago that I'll need a refresher course. Any links to the process before I start Googling? And does anyone remember the size of the center nut?
On another non-truck topic: I got my General Class amateur radio license at the first of the year. It all started with me getting a cheap handheld for emergency use while out hiking. (There are lots of places with no cell coverage out here.) I wasn't going to get my license, but thought, "Eh, why not?" Since then, I picked up an HF radio and and a dual-band rig, both from the early-90's era when I was interested in CB and skip. I've not been on them a whole lot yet, since there've been other (outside) things to do, but see that changing as winter sets in. Are any of you gents hams, by chance?
EDIT: Well, I guess at least *one* of you is! (kd4gij)
Here's my "shack." (I guess *anything* constitutes a shack, even if it's just radios setting on a desk.)
