I wish I could use them.... the 4 popper coils are different.

The Escapes actually aren't NEARLY as picky about coils as the modulars are.

Of course.... the electronic portion as pretty much useable for them. The boots and the angle/position of the connector is the main difference.

Speaking of the A arms has anyone used the Mevotech stuff from Rockauto or have better recommendations that aren't a budget killer?

Aragon.....I bought a set last summer of the HD Mevotech's. They look really heavy duty compared to other aftermarket one's avail. Even heavier than the Moog brand. When I got sick, they got put on the back burner until this spring.

My buddy has them on an 01 and loves that his front end doesn't squeak anymore. Seem to be holding up well so far. He drives about 20k a year using this truck, so they r holding up well.

Thanks AK, I just wanted to run them past someone who would know and that makes me feel a little more comfortable. If I'm going to spend the money I'd rather do it with something that will last but can't afford a ton yet.

I'm looking at starting to go on some class 2 trails this year, nothing crazy but out away from the city streets. Not sure I trust the stock arms since the dust boots have pretty much disintegrated.

You know, now that I think of it, I used an old 5.4 coil in that Escape. I just swapped the boot over.

I put a 5.4 coil in my Brother's and did the same thing. Swapped the boot and spring - the only diff was the angle on the plug.

Well spent half hour cleaning ice and snow off the truck, was getting it warmed up to take the wife and baby out to buy some shoes and when I backed out of the driveway noticed a puddle! It's coolant and the whole front of the engine was wet... I'm guessing water pump kicked the bucket but I had it replaced not too long ago

Dumb, but check your hose connections. I had one that took three tries to get sealed back up when I pulled the pump a couple weeks back to seal it. It only leaked when the system was fully up to temp with pressure.

Just got back home and checked again. Both hoses are dry, it's dripping behind crank pulley/on oil pan. The pan and sway bar are soaked and nothing above the water pump is wet. Can't actually see anything leaking but it's dripping straight down the front of the engine... so I'm guessing water pump still?

I farmed it out last time as i didn't have time for it to be down... I still don't this time and it's 10° here, but my trusted garages are 3hrs away and I can't imagine what the dealership is going to charger... Any thoughts on how difficult it is to replace? What brands are best? Needing to get this back on the road ASAP
