Thinking
Safety equipment was present and utilized. Chainsaws are too dangerous not to be careful.
Well our weather changed again last night. We got 5 inches of snow in my area. Downtown got 1 inch. Not fair in my opinion. I dug out the snow blower today for the first time since 2013. It was a very wet snow, as it is 33 out right now and getting wetter. We are suppose to be back in the 40's by Wednesday, so this shouldn't stay that long.
I decided that since lil Red wasn't tuned up yet, that I would get out Blue and use him until the weather warms again. Luckily I have 2 4x4's to choose from and get around in this with. lol Besides, I'm quite used to using Blue when it snows.
Here are a couple pics of the damn stuff. It's everywhere, it's everywhere.

Brrr.... now it'll turn to slush and just make a mess!- ol' blue isnt a bad looking truck- what year is she?-do you have to add weight in the back to get around or does the road crews do a good enough job?
Blue is also a 98. She has 124k on the clock. I've had her since 2010.
As far as getting around. I run in 2wd 99% of the time, and only switch to 4x4 if the weather is so bad that it is necessary. Otherwise, I don't use weight or studs. I use good lug (snow type) tires year round. I've done this since 1967 so I've got a fairly good idea of the way things work up here. If I was down somewhere else, I'd have to get used to the difference in snow conditions, like in Washington state. Those poor people there can't drive in snow. At least the ones who don't live in the mountain areas. Wow. Snow is a good reason to drive Ford automatics. 2nd gear is a savior a lot of time.

Thats funny, i worked in central North Carolina for a bit in '85-86- it snowed that winter!- talk about folks that cant drive in the snow!
I would have thought folks up that way would be more accustomed to it!

My old Mustang was a 4 spd.- you couldnt take off in the snow in 1st.- you had to use 2nd - then you had to feel it "settle in", and the tires grab before you started to move. Drove that car many years!
I got a chance today to try out Red's 4x4 system and it works as it should. No problems found. It went into 4Hi and 4Lo without any kind of resistance. This I am happy about. The LS and the 4x4 front make this lil truck a damn tree climber. Rather impressed with the way it handled the snow. I may have to tune it this week when the weather gets warm again. That or go over to the daughters house and use that garage. The lake house is looking better all the time. lol
