So.... you guys are saying that there is a difference on the breather tube beginning in 99? Just curious about options in case I decide to follow through with the 3.73's when I put in the LSD. Not that it matters a lot because I'll probably go pull one from the yard.... but, I'm just curious.
Oh, and AK - no worries on the wheels. I'm not in a hurry, lol.
To give you a better perspective, the boat winch I hit was attached to a almost 2' piece of channel or tubing. It must of stood up when I caught it with the inside front tire...the truck pole volted. Could be more damage under there.

That's what I gather, except I'm not sure it was 99 when they moved the breather. Have no idea when that happened and haven't seen one yet.
Crap.... that sucks. I guess you would have already noticed if it hit the oil pan or trans pan. Hopefully it didn't do too much damage, if it did smack anything else.

I didn't see anything else, but I didn't check any further. Wish I would of roaded it in 4wd a bit. I'll have to check it out once apart. The actuator looked funny but worked. Ford wants 374 for one lol, dorman 97. So I don't want to purchase just the housing yet, since I may be able to get everything cheaper with a complete unit.
Now I'll either wait for warmer weather or re-arrange the garage to fit the truck. Less work if I wait lol.
For the 374 price, I think I would grab a complete from that list I sent you and just swap the complete assembly and be done with it. If you have a different ratio, just back up 2 link on the page and pick the axle ratio you have. Good luck with the project. Sorry to hear you had this kind of problem.

Right, this is what I need to determine. Glad I didn't order that tube, it may of been a waste. Took my big compressor out of storage, setting it up at the kids place. That was fun with the vehicle I'm driving now, it's a little too small lol. Really need to get another truck....burned out from looking again lol. The GF attempted to surprise me with one...my brother stopped her thankfully. I could never accept that, - would of caused hurt feelings I'm sure. I've been looking for perfection for what, a couple years now lol. Yea, have to get past this hurdle...plenty more ahead!
Holy crap. We've got a snow storm sitting in the Sound that is going to give Seward up to 20 plus inches of snow the next day or so. It going to be a nasty spring storm. The problem is, so far it doesn't show where it goes from here. It could come in at Seattle or go across middle Canada and drop into the US anywhere. This is not a little thing. It's suppose to miss us, and go all around the area, but I think where it goes from here is going to really catch hell. Early warning guys.
On to lil Red. I've collected the second visors from an Expy to give me the dual visor set up. I have the dash upper panel from the 99 Navigator, with the clock, to paint and install. I have the cluster with white face and red labeling right now, but may swap over to another color down the road. I have a black insert panel in Red right now, that would look good with this cluster and take away a lot of the open white. I'll see how it is at night before making a decision. I'm getting there. I'm doing the window trim panels right now with Hydrodipping to match my steering wheel. It's been nice out, but still not as warm as I'd like to work on things outside still. Soon, I HOPE.
I received a call tonight from the prior owner of lil Red. He was asking if I wanted to sell him back to him. I told him, I had too much time and money in it now, to even think about selling it. I was going to finish the truck the way i want and anything less would be a failure on my part, I feel. So, no it's not going back to him. Besides I have a boat to pull this summer. LOL
The cluster trim looks like this below. I can easily paint it any color or even dip it. I have several carbon fiber looking films that would look fairly good on that. I don't think woodgrain would look good though even if the truck has it. lol. Next find, 2002 Harley wrecked. I've got dibs on the steering column. That has the chrome shifter handle and chrome turn signal handle, as well as the black harley leather wheel and bag. All for 100. I'm suppose to pick it up when he gets back on Saturday.
Thanks for the weather warning AK- good nite old man winter dont want to let go! We had one good day in the 50’s sunday. We took ol’ blue over to Pa. to visit the f-i-l, so when we got back... clean up time!
That was a quick trip through the car wash- not too shabby for an old truck.
then snow on the ground monday morning! SMH!
Damn Yogi, that is one clean truck. The interior is priceless for the year. I commend you on the care you take with your vehicles. That's probably the cleanest interior I've seen in many years in a truck that wasn't 3 or 4 years old.
On another note, when I first looked at the book on the seat, under the armrest, I thought that you also had a roll of toilet paper. I was going to give you some chxt over that, lol
PS: I'm glad I don't have to compete with the Bear when it comes of cleaning. Whew! It wouldn't even be a contest. I give already. LOL
