Good afternoon Bear. Hope all is well in your part of the country.

I was going to do the RWL's but when i had them on my other rims they were turned in to match the front, so they did it the same way on the FX rims. I should of caught it, but didn't ask for the RWL's out, so my fault. Oh well. Red and black go well together, as does white/black, and silver/black.

As I said before I had a core PI 5.4 on a pallet, so after reading the 5.4 Swap thread, I got a hair up my azz. I think I'm going to rebuild that engine this winter, since I really don't have a lot of hard projects to do. lol. Right. Why not though? Since I have the ability, the time, engine, etc, why not rebuild it and put it in next summer? That would make sure that it was sound for the longer haul. I can do the block tank for nothing. Boring if necessary is another thing.

The engine I have only has 103k on it, but has a super hard rod knock. Possibly both on one journal. It sounds like it's ready to go out the side, so it luckily was pulled before that. When I drained the oil out, it had a bunch of silver in it.

I haven't bought a crank kit or any of the rotation parts yet. I do have the oil pump and screen, gasket set, ford intake gaskets, timing kit, w/p, t/stat, etc parts set aside for it. I just won't go for internals until it is fully broke down and inspected. After that I'll go ahead and get what is necessary. I'm sure that 2 rods will be on the parts menu though. lol

I'm right there with you on the indoor project. I think I may try my hand at building a 4.3 mercruiser. The po didn't winterize so I need a new block bored .030 over. I've never built an engine so I don't even know who to go to for the machine work.

JP...One good thing about a 4.3 is that is is a basic Chevrolet engine. It is a 350 with 2 cylinders removed. Very simple rebuild of this engine. The only difference is the brass freeze plugs and the seats for the valves. Otherwise it is a S10/C10 motor. Great power, ease of repairs. Good for a boat for sure.

Bear....it was 21 again last night. 32 the night before. I wish it would set at a number so my old body would adapt, if possible. LOL. Water heater? You actually need that in Ohio? Lol. Sorry it cost so damn much. We put one into a neighbors m/home and it was another 400 over the ones for a regular home. Different spots for the air intake and such. Big difference, and they won't let you put in the home style. Living on the cheap doesn't always work when it comes to certain specialty items. Glad you got it fixed.

The Mustang needs new stripes next year. This summer they started to bubble in the back from all the heat and sun this past summer. They've been on since 2010, so they have run their course. Debating if I'm going to stay with the Petty blue, or go to a violet or lime green with the black. Both look great. It's just how bright I want to be. lol

Good afternoon AK!- amen to the body aches!- started in raining last night- i could tell about 4 hrs. In advance!- damned arthur!-
Green,green!- lime green stripes look sharp on black!- grandson used to have a HotWheel car similar to that.
Quite the sticker shock last night- the last water heater i bought was in 04- about 250.00-
50 gal. tank is now 425.00!!- but, yes, even in Ohio, ya gots ta have one!!
That kinda got me thinking, how much more expensive is stuff up there?- logistics and all-and do the wages offset the higher costs of goods and services?

This is what I was thinking too. If I am going to try my hand at it and be able to fit it all back together then it's a good thing it is a basic carbed push rod engine. Honestly I really only need a good short block but I'll just have to see what's close by and accessible.

Yall have a good day guys.

How does one winterize a truck? I'm parking my two door in the garage for the winter next week.

Other than a little Stabil, take the battery inside, and and oil change.
