Strange maybe, but I love that kind of work. Man, the 98 hasn't seen 4 low in a good 10 years. The last was when the neighbor was building a pole barn. The guys he hired had 2wd trucks that ended up stuck on his property back buy the building site. It was wet and slimy. I was in my barn watching the show. 1rst guy got all the way back to the site then couldn't move. Wasn't buried, just a slick surface and the site was down grade. A second guy backed half way down and chained up, yep , stuck as well.

Anyway, both trucks were Chevy's so I jumped at the chance to pull them out at the same time. Wasn't a big accomplishment, I had 20' of chain of my own which put me on hard ground after adding to one of theirs. Pulled them both out in 4Low and at idle lol. Didn't need 4Low, -was a muscle flexing thing more less...FORD RULES!

I enjoyed that one myself. Forgot all about it. jp triggered the memory just right lol.

Sort of old school as well, not one of those guys had a strap. Neither did I at the time. Just a crap load of chain, short, long sections all hooked together. Part of the reason for 4Low I guess. I only hooked to my truck, not theirs. It took awhile to get that mess all taunt at the same time lol. But watching the guy way back there hooking then running away wasn't a secure feeling. Fortunately, it didn't take much power for the pull, just traction. I was at idle or just above stating off and it was enough.

I forgot to mention, when driving today, I did notice that the blower only worked on the high side of the switch. I ordered an new resistor tonight to fix that problem. Other than the tune up now and the rear slider replacement, lil Red is done. He does drive good in the snow. That is a major plus.

Till the next chapter. Have a great weekend guys.

Oh I don't mind the work at all. Much better than desk work.

I pulled a bottomed out suburban one time in much the same way brew. Lol

I had 70 ft of shrimp trawler rope but it's the same idea, put it in 4 low and chugged him right out of his predicament.

Sometimes you just have to flex. Lol

I don't have any stories of pulling things out with my F150. However, with my 91 Explorer (Manual Trans and 4.0 OHV with BFG A/T TKO's) I did pull a loaded 53 foot tractor/trailer out of the dock at work. I was so proud of that thing. About 3 days later, I pulled a UPS truck out of a mud hole - but that wasn't nearly as cool. I really miss that old pig. It had 297,000 miles on it when I decided I needed a Ranger and sold it off.

Both instances were due to inclement weather conditions.

Good Sunday morning AK, all you thinkers!-
AK- glad to hear lil' red is shaping up well!-
One of you guys told me about an ad blocker- what was the name of it again? - ive been running through the G/T-app, but it got goofy - i deleted it,then reinstalled it, now the phone shows me an undefined error message!- im running through the mobile site on safari- but its just a matter of time before the popups get bad again.
I tried Purify, but its not compatable with my 5c. Grrrrr.
Any ideas?- thanks fellers!

Damn. 9 degrees right now. It's not that bad, but seems a bit chilly this early in the winter (for us anyways). Just think. This cold spell is going to jet stream to probably around Chicago or S Dakota. It should drop in there somewhere it shows. I hope you guys have some coats out of summer storage. lol.

That's right Bear. Back to work. LOL You aren't paid to promote the F150 forum. Well, maybe you are. Have a great day.

Just a heads up. lol
