Other than a little Stabil, take the battery inside, and and oil change.
I guess I see how that could sound strange. Lol

The 4.3 is going in one of my boats.

Nice looking lake runner you have there JP. I have a Volvo powered in/outboard in my hardtop boat. It was used mostly out in Homer and Seward for halibut and such in the ocean waters.

I put it on the lake a few years ago. Great for what they are designed for. Not much for shallow areas though. I think I'm going to sell mine off this spring. I don't use it anymore, and if I go back to the lake I'll get a more adaptable unit for that area. An i/o is a bit low hung for all the crap growing in the lakes over the years. I need to run about 20 full passes at full speed to do a lawn mowing of the lake out front of the house. lol

Anthony. Here is AK, to winterize, it is make sure the antifreeze is at least 30 below (colder in northern AK), a block heater if you use it in the winter. Stabil isn't a big deal here, as we use real gasoline. Stabil is more for additives in gasoline not to congeal or dry to a power and block the ports and such.

Oil changes ??? If your oil is fresh enough, it isn't a necessity. Keeping the fluid levels right is a big thing in cold weather and the right grades of lubricants helps a lot. Some truckers here, lower the rear differential grades, and the trans boxes etc. Anything to make them shift easier in the extreme cold. It all depends where you are, how cold the weather, etc.

Personally, I just do the a/freeze check, oil check, and raise the tire pressure 2 pounds all around. That keeps the tires up in the colder weather, when they tend to deflate a couple pounds. Otherwise, there isn't a lot to do. That is all I've even done in my 60 plus years here. (I know, old fart) lol

Good morning AK !- hope you and the rest of the gents here have a great day!
With winter closing in, now would be a good time for an indoor project- fresh engine in front of a fresh trans,- be like a new/ old truck!-
Had to put a new water heater in the house last night- -daum the price has went up on them things!
Take it easy,Bill, ill catch up with you fellers later!
In late 2009 I had to go to over 6 places before I could find someone who had the Petty blue for striping. I found the Ford dark blue, a light blue, but nothing the Petty/Grabber blue coloring.

Graphix of Phoenix or similar name finally came up with the 3M colored tape and sent it to me. My car made the back of a Mustang Monthly a year later. The stripe color became available on the 2010 Shelby's.

I've seen 3 (in pictures) of the lime green/black options. There are a couple with my stripes now, but still can only find one online with the purplish stripes. Whichever way I go, I will have to change the interior piping on the doors to match the stripes. Easy enough to do. Just more work if I switch. lol.

Have a great day Bear and the rest of you guys.

Thank you sir. It has the volvo variant of the 4.3. I live on a deep tidal river near the coast in SC so I don't really get that much shallow water, esp with that much grass. I would get in there with some aqua ss and knock some of it out.

I really don't want to kill off the grass, because it is a silver salmon spawning area. I'd hate to ruin a great area, just for my boating fun. I'd just go with a different style set up and protect that one big patch. There were 1000's of salmon at that area 4 years ago when the boat was on the lake. It was weird to look down and see all of them and then I realized what that area was. Now I know why my grandfather used to fish this one area in the winter time. He pulled many rainbows out of there over 20 inches. Smart gentleman.

Very smart man. I definitely wouldn't mess with the grass either then. I've always wanted to fish for salmon. Would be a heck of a change from what I'm used to.
