With these, I'd connect at the easy side of the hose, not at the core itself. That's IF you can. Your cooling system is different from mine as far as hose routing.
Otherwise, you'll need a special tool to get those connectors off the core stem. BUT, even with the correct tool, you'll be lucky to get them off without chopping them. That's why I use the opposite end. Ford just worm clamped those ends.

So your saying disconnect the hoses that come off of the firewall, just not at the firewall correct? I'll have to get a better look at it in a little while, I only glanced at it quickly while changing the tstat.

Yes. You can turn the fittings on top as well.

Now that you know I'm dieting lol, I wouldn't force too much water pressure through there, I'm not sure how much it can take. It's only rated for 10 lbs. I like using regulated compressed air myself.
