Interesting find today. While watching the Sprint Cup race today, I decided to do some info on the clockspring set up I need to the steering wheel controls work with the Navi wheel. I found that only 99-02 Navi clock springs will work. I found a full write up on the switch over into an Excursion, which has the same steering column and set up in ours.

It really isn't a big thing to do. A cut here, solder there, which is required when changing to use our F150 plugs. It will work fine but just need to find a cheap clockspring or column from one of the correct Navigators. There is no other fit for our Gen truck. Not even the KR or Harley has this. Hmm. Time to try and scrounge a clockspring. A new is just too high priced for me to use for a mod I may never complete. lol.

Yea, I asked you earlier a couple times about making the wheel fully functional, but you never answered. At least now I know, patience paid off lol. I've been wanting one of those as well.

Thanks!

It was one of those cases where I wasn't 1oo% sure of the set up. I had to pull some schematics from a 99 Navigator to see for sure why it worked for them and not our Gen 10's. The write up I found, went into the problems I was having, and I knew immediately (from making 2005=09 Mustangs have SWC's working) what I needed to switch, etc, to make thing fit right.

Now that I know the way it is used and what is required, no problem. If I wasn't checking for the poster of the back window surround, I wouldn't of gone into my books and looked. I ran the number thru the interchange, and found a Well's number, but no Dorman or other brands listing the Navigator c/s. Ford is close to $200 for this particular c/s, so that sort of limits the places to get one, but I will. Bet on it.

I'm glad I've kept a link to the US auto yards via Hollander. I just found my clockspring for the Navigator from Carney in Iowa. $45 for the c/s and 15 USPS for a total of $60. I can live with that. The used one I found locally was $100, and I'd have to pull it. This is on the shelf and ready to go. I can make that into what I need in short order now. Now to go rip apart an Gen 10 c/s and use the ends for my set up, so I don't cut my good c/s up.

Yes Bear, I've done that a number of times. As recently as last night. LOL

I did manage to get my tires today from Amazon. They are now on the truck. I took some pictures sitting in the driveway, but will get some others from other places a bit later. I got so damn tired after I finished, that I decided that it will be tomorrow before I go back out. lol I'm thinking about adding back in the lift blocks in the rear. Something doesn't look quite right since I took them out. Decisions, decisions.

Those are just Fuzion's that I had 2 new of, so I bought 2 more. Those are 265/70R17's. I turned in the raised letters.
