This is basically how I did mine yesterday. The first video uses a lot of heat, that isn't necessary. Just a small amount of heat keeps the whole bolt and nut from expanding.

I was on Craigslist tonight and found a glass shop in town, now installing new Carlite windshields for $160. installed, cash only. Since both trucks have chips and cracks in their respective w/shields, I made an appointment for next week to throw one in Blue. If I like their current work, I'll throw one into lil Red also. It was $390 for my Mustang's replacement, but that has the factory glass, with shaded logo, etc. I could of went with the replacement for $280, but wanted things like it came. The price didn't matter in the Mustang's case, as I had insurance pay it. I paid the $100 deductible.

Hows the pricing for windshield replacement in your areas guys? I realize that $160 is a hell of a deal installed, especially in Alaska, considering transportation costs. I'm just wondering on how it is in other places for windshield replacements. I'm not sure how they are doing this actually. It isn't like they are a fly by night business. They've been in business for over 20 years. I used them long time ago, but forgot about them.

Good morning AK, and you thinkers!- hope all is well and good!- Bill, ive never had to replace a windshield.(knock on wood)- so i cant really tell you. Ive had a few rock chips, but nothing that would compromise the windshield,or be a distraction. Dad had a rock crack his on his 04-but he never had it fixed- he sold it to my b-i-l, far as i know, its still that way!

Good Morning guys. Hope all is well in the good ole' Continental US. Been nice here lately. 40's in November is a nice start to winter. I'll stick with this. lol (Yes, I am a true, born Alaskan, who hates really cold weather).

Here is something I need that maybe one of you can help me find. 1997-98's have a round pop in plug in the center of the front door panels to cover an access bolt. I need these for lil Red. I don't care the color (grey is prevalent) as I can always airbrush them correct. If someone was bone yard hunting, and could pop off those, I'd certainly pay the shipping and whatever. This is all that I am missing to complete the inside of the truck now. I've scoured the bone yards and craigslist locally, but most are 99 and up. The two I found had the doors already sold, so no plugs.

Anyways, if one of you fine gentlemen, take a stroll in the local yard, would you at least take a look and see if you can help me out.

Thanks guys.

Can you post a pic for me? I seem to only be able to find 97-98s around here.

Thanks White. ZebraFord has the cover and I'll get that when he goes home for Thanksgiving.

How are you setting up the Chev for e-fans? You going with the common Taurus set up and use it on the Chev? There are numerous write ups on using Ford fans on them. The seem to work better than the GM ones for some reason. Might be fit. I don't do Chev's, per se.

I need the plugs I showed. Would you check for Lincoln Navigators 99-02 and see if maybe a clock spring is available. If you want to go to radio controls from the steering wheel, you need one of those. Thanks White.
