That reminds me.. I may as well change mine while the truck's still up on the stands. 6 quarts of M1 and a MC filter are waiting. Wheels are going back on tonight. Might as well let it drain while I do that.

Actually, I'm not really Mobil 1 fan after they failed wear ratings way back when...for the crankcase anyway. Motorcraft and Castrol Syn Blend there really. If I started outed out using Full Syn, I would of stuck with it.

Mobil 1 has worked great for gear oil in the past, that's where I put that stuff . Amsoil for the trans, good history and experience there.

But yea, that's horrible looking. Makuloco said that's highway miles as well, - hard not to pin that on the oil. Yea , stay away from the purple stuff, too much food coloring or something lol.

EDIT: I think you remember when I was referring to it quite a bit (M1), after the latest rear end fiasco. More of a should woulda coulda thing, after trying the cheaper stuff lol.

Did the math today... my oil has 1450 miles on it I changed it Memorial Day weekend. Teetering on whether or not I should change it again before the snow. I gotta do the Toyote this weekend, which takes only 4 quarts - and also takes 5W-20, so two 5 quart jugs and two filters will do them both.

LOL, I was laughing when I typed the Ditto comment too. Sometimes I am really LOL when I read or type things..... usually, it's just me thinking something is funny, lol <---- see?

Mobil 1 has work gear oil for me though. Amsoil for the trans, it's proved itself there from personal experience.

Yep, I do remember. I knew you liked Amsoil ATF and Mobil 1 gear oil, but I was thinking you liked the Mobil motor oil too? I used the Super Tech Walmart stuff (made by Warren Petroleum Products) in the Toyote this last go around, and it has been really impressive stuff. After reading a lot about it on BITOG, I decided to give it a shot and I've been thoroughly impressed.

Never have used RP stuff.... always thought it was another snake oil.

I'm better off sticking with the stuff that's been working. Steer clear of those self inflicted hex implosions if I can...those can really blow.

Why the dilemma, you have a heated garage yuh smooch

I usually laugh after I type something and hit submit...because I know I'm going have to edit it to make sense. No, I don't why that's funny.

I started my winter driving today by putting Red in storage for the winter. My Mustang was already put away. After taking Blue on a short drive, I decided the front Monroes have to go. The softness on corners is quite noticeable. I have the HD Gabriel gases on Red and love them. Monroe's on the back. Perfect combo. So, I just ordered the new Gab's for the front of Blue. Never have liked Monroes on the front of Ford's trucks. Too much side give..

Hope they get here went the weather is warm. And no SNOW. lol

Alaska had it's warmest October on record. Almost 11 degrees over avg everyday. Most days of 50+ etc. We got snow on the 30th. Suppose to be in the 30's tomorrow up to 40's later. Rain this weekend.
