Nothing here at our place at all (not even rain), Brew, but there's a chance of storms in the area again today. The forecast is for T-storms with lots of lightning, and pea-sized hail. Colorado Springs got hit with baseball-sized hail a month or so back. Hail was going through roof shingles, sheathing, and ceilings, and landing in people's living rooms! I guess Denver got hammered a few days ago. We've been very fortunate up here!
..
Man , that's the worst I've seen. Looked like those houses were hit by artillery fire. 3" ice *****, bone breaking hail. Seems like that could be deadly.
Yeah, I hope I never see/experience that in person. It's devastating.
In other news, I woke up this morning to find this:
I reviewed my surveillance cameras, and saw a raccoon meandering about under the deck in the wee hours of the morning. Apparently, when he climbed up and found I'd moved the suet feeder out of his reach (he pulled one of the covers off that lady week), he got ticked off and decided to destroy one of my wife's flower boxes.
I guess the good thing is she hadn't yet re-planted them with the new $tuff she bought yesterday.
Ohio....you have to watch out for those sneaky little devil. My friend down south was always sending me pictures of them doing all sorts of weird stuff. He had a picture with one standing on the back of another so one could knock down a feeder he had. I thought it was a photoshop at first. It wasn't. lol
I didn't manage to get many photos this trip. I had 2 cameras with me, but the rain kept coming and going. It really poured on the highway coming back. It sounded like someone on the roof (driving at 70) was using it for a drum solo. Damn that was wild. We don't see rain like that very often.
Damn that is a fun drive with Sonya. Thru the mountains, and all the highway curves, make that drive fun. What was bad yesterday was all the freaking motorhomes. I'll bet there were 200 at a minimum on the roads. Alaska Motorhome rentals had at least 100 of the newer Winnebago (now a Coachman) out. There was one group with 8 alone in it. I never realized that they had so many on their back lot. I knew it was a large number, but damn. That was just on the road to Fairbanks from Anchorage. I wonder what the Seward Highway (to Kenai, Homer, Seward....fishing and tourist spots) looked like. My neighbor said ti was wall to wall when he came back on Friday. Really a lot of tourists this year.
Bear......wishing you and your family well in these times of family illnesses. I hope your dad does a full recovery and has no other problems with his health.
