Holy cow, White! How did you justify that figure to them? This reminds me that I should probably have my appraisal updated (if I can find the darned thing).

Haggarty? I took your advice on them last fall.

Red is insured thru them for $11k. You are right about cheap. All I had to do was show proof of the new engine and replacement, then about 2 dozen pictures. They accepted the $11k I asked for. All my others are insured thru Harford/AARP. Fairly decent rates there also.

I sent them pictures (their only requirement) and a video that I made. They had an estimator review it, and it was approved immediately. I looked around at prices, and I figured I'd be 18 to 20K to get something similar to what I have.

I got a quote last year from Haggerty that was about 350 for the year at 14,000 dollars (there was never an appraisal done by them, BTW - just a number I came up with a couple years ago). I've seen the Fox Body prices soaring lately.... and after my friend told me to check with his agent, it became apparent I was getting more going through him. As I said above, I really scoured the net looking at what I felt was comparable and arrived at 20K, and that was the agreed value. That was the first figure I presented.... and in 6 months, I plan on needing to raise it. The company is American National. It's about 90 dollars for 6 months.

I will be putting Frankie on it before long as well. The agent said it has to be somewhat complete to be considered, so after I paint it, I'll call them.

BTW.... my Buddy that owns the trans shop bought me one of these... and I think it might become Frankie's paint booth.

Good morning thinkers!- fellers, thats cheap insurance!- but thats for classic/custom/modified vehicles, right? and is there a mileage clause? and is that secondary insurance?( do they require you to have a primary insurance as well?) My new truck is too new to be considered classic, but there might come a time...if i dont die first! lol!
( I get a deep discount through SF- because i put less than 3,000 miles/year on my truck, but ive had SF insure everything i have for forty years!- Hmm...,just thinking... by golly i DESERVE a discount!!)
You fellers keep the coffee hot, and carry on!!
Peace to all!- ttyl!

I'll have to do some looking around, White, but I didn't think about the fact that Foxbodys are likely more desirable than the 94-98 body style at this point, and may be fetching higher prices. (As much as I love this car, twenty years later, I *still* miss my '87.)

Yes, it's classic car insurance. The mileage that I told them was less than 1000 miles per year, but my policy says "ANNUAL MILEAGE = 0-7,499". There's no way I'd put 1000 on it, let alone 7500 miles. It's lucky to see 500 miles per year.

If you're interested, this is their page. I'm not sure if they require an agent or not.
