AK... glad you're PITA has subsided enough to release you from the hospital. I have a family history of colon cancer, so every time I get the slightest hint of something like that, it's a colonoscopy. My grandfather died from it, and my cousin that is 3 or 4 years younger than I has already had a bout with colon cancer. So yeah... stay on top of that.

My FIL that I mentioned wasn't doing well a while back is getting worse. Looks like hospice will be starting to take care of him in the next couple of days. In a way, I am envious of how he's been able to set things up beforehand. He's been able to line up his finances, funeral plans/expenses, etc. knowing the inevitable was near. I'm sure going to miss him.... brilliant man, and a really great FIL.

Just found a 351 on FB Marketplace.... Motor is complete, minus the carb. And it's a 4 barrel..... but that's about all I know. They didn't say much about it..... I think I'm OK getting an early block and doing a roller conversion. The early blocks were pretty strong.

Good morning, everyone.

AK - Glad to hear you're out of the hospital. That's no place to be. Don't you know there's sick people there???

Bear - I was born and raised in Canton. I was in the USAF, but was in Minot for the mid-eighties. Colorado was our decision about 5 years ago. Wanted to be here, and decided to do it before we were too old to enjoy it.

Carpe diem, folks!

Oh well.... I'll find another one. I just know that I'd rather have this motor on a stand than a tire or a pallet when I get in there. Might just get a HF stand.
Can't you use that puller ? Guess not.

Wow glad AK's alright. Now hearing your stories and about Bears Dad has me a little paranoid. Hope I don't come off as making light of those events, I've been putting that test off for 3 months now, should of went for one years ago. The hospital freaks me out, probably no more than other folks. Like Ohio said, there's sick people there. Docs office has them call you to set up that appointment. Well, I just don't answer the phone, they never leave a message, or I would call them back. So I haven't set up an appointment or missed one. BUT, I know it's them. That's what I mean by terrible... I know I have to do it though, need to get past this. Making it a big deal when it shouldn't be. What a wuss lol.

Brew, those are some professional crimps there. Much better than beating them flat with a ball-peen hammer! My dad gave me some No-Ox-Ide years ago, and I use that on terminals. It stays sticky, though, so your stuff might be a bit better for under-hood, etc.
Yea the A-Special No Ox works great when you brush it. Wipe off the excess. When finished you can't tell it's been applied. I use it on grounds as well, like say cab grounds. Scuff the paint off down to metal, brush it in. Fasten the ground bolt. Clean off residual no-ox around the fastener, then prime paint or touch up. When ground direct to metal, doesn't matter how tight the fastener is, it always seems to rust between the connection. It's a great preventative for countering corrosion it tight spaces.

Keep the tips and tricks coming lol. Ground straps are one project that needs to happen sooner rather than later on the Highboy... truly the whole truck needs re-wired but I was hoping to put it off until I paint the inside. I hate to feed all those wires and do that work twice.

Not to hold it.... unless I change where I am hooked up the chains to it. The cam covers need to come off , and I'm hooked in on the heads to pull it.

Plus it's hard to torque bolts on a swinging piņata.
