AK, i live in Chillicothe, Ohio- about 45 mi. south of Columbus- it looked serious, and could have been, but our employee based fire crew did a good job of getting it under control.
it was a lease unit,to suppliment the permanent compressors, it was supposed to be a temporary fix, but you know how that goes... probably a bad fuel line or something...
The outside pics were taken by my wife from in front of our house, the inside pics were copies from facebook.
No, it wont come out of my check- i work out of the pulp mill, woodyard maintenance shop, that was up in the power house area by our recovery boiler- just glad nothing else caught.

Damn, forgot the pic white, or post one anyway. Anyway, took a few man, but with this , -everything ready to install last Friday. Have to get over there tomorrow and close it up, -then wait another 24 for gear oil. Damn, wish I had the time Fri to seal it up, oh well.
But yea, NO C-clips in the front diff what so ever or on either side. Diff cover didn't need to be removed, - no sludge, clean, nothing on the magnet. Removed it for inspection mostly. It was kind of like opening a present, wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not....pleasantly surprised I guess lol.
EDIT: Yea, I posted the short axle previously, - this was installed into the diff side before snapping the shot (see the pilot bearing ?). 3 axles on the right, 2 axles on the left. The left and right axles use a snap ring vs a c-clips. All that keeps eveything in place in the 4 axle housing tube bolts. Hope I made it easy to understand. Let me know if you have any questions.

Cool doors, a must vs a slider IMO. Did the SS work, could you grill in the rain ? Looks a little small, might just be the pic though.

Alright. NOW it makes sense. Seeing your pic finally made it click! It is much different than I had anticipated. That shaft hosing looks like it has a groove to accept a gasket... am I seeing that correctly?
The SS awning, was about 9 feet, IIRC. Then it extended all the way to the end of the deck, which was 12 feet (The upper tier was 12' X 12"). Never tried to BBQ in the rain though.
I plan on eventually doing a metal awning on the new house. They are a lot more sturdy and wind resistant..... not to mention, they look better IMO. My neighbor owns a construction company, so I think I'll ask him how much he wants. Might just do it myself though - because I work right by one of the main steel supply stores in SLC. They sell tons of this stuff.
Update on the eye.... I only had surgery on one eye, BTW (monovision surgery). It is a strange process. I still have a lot of "haloing" and moments of fuzziness. But overall, it is getting better. It's supposed to take 4 to 8 weeks for my brain to reprogram the eyes to know it uses one for distance and one for close vision. They told me if I did surgery on both, I would absolutely need reading glasses. If I just did one eye, then because I am over 40, I would have an over 85% chance of never needing glasses for either again. So, I'm a gambler - and went with those odds. It was an incredibly quick surgery - don't think I was on the table longer than 10 -15 minutes, and I was back up walking around. It took longer waiting for the numbing drops to work than the actual surgery.

So worst case scenario, you'll have to get the surgery on the other eye?
Btw, - more shots of the diff and another of the trailer (2018 Grand Design) here, -

Yeah, that's worst case scenario. Everyone I've talked to that had it said to wait it out for 2 months before I make the call to have the other eye done.
Ahh... I see that axle was bent pretty good! Thank for the pics!

You can see the bend in the pic ? Nah, it must be the pic making it look bent lol. Or maybe my eyes are THAT bad lol. It's only bent at the very end. This is where it fits into the bearing, yea, I couldn't see it until I cleaned it up. I kept looking at it, -is it bent ? Looked closer and there's a imprint of the bearing pressed into the axle lol. Yea, never would of noticed if I didn't clean it up first because, -
1. The housing was cracked, -didn't look like it pushed apart. Cracked and didn't leak until is sat for awhile.
2. Bearing was bad...this bearing is a one time bearing. Ford service has it- replace bearing IF dismantled. So the bearing being bad didn't really clue me in.
BUT- what makes perfect sense, -Impact was right there or right before the pilot bearing. The axle tube cracked which didn't take much, the axle took the brunt of the blow...hell the bearing rollers were smashed and imprinted into the axle. The axle housing didn't push apart because the bend was minor (tweaked) and difficult to see, - with my eyes. Well, I guess I can see it now that I know for sure. I'll take some more pics of that today. I'm heading out there today...hopefully. Got to get off the damn computer first lol.

Dangg, reading through some old truck logs, September 2nd 2005: Soaped down drivers side window, hood, fender, front end. Moved to the passenger front window, soaped it down. Began soaping the hood on that side and the engine began to crank. Cranked for approx 15 seconds then stopped. Went to the cab, -keys were laying on the floor. Mann, glad I wrote that down, forgot about it lol. That explained the piece of rubber over the GEM. I remember doing that...now!
Only other GEM related - windows and door locks quit working, fuses check out. Pulled PCM fuse then reinstalled promptly. Fixed the problem. That's all the old stuff (GEM related) . The last problem was recent 2016. Headlights failed to shut off, took a few restarts and shut downs is all.

OK.... I was only looking at the top of the axle shaft.... thought the bottoms were lined up with each other. My eyes are playing games with me.
