Two more fires started while I was asleep for 3 hours.... both within city limits, and luckily both of those are out. Just read that the canyon fire is 40+ acres, not contained, and air support was called in for break of daylight. Closest body of water is the next canyon over.... my fishing hole.

Good morning thinkers!- thought i would let you know i was still around- my sister and i made arrangements to move Dad into hospice care this weekend- there has been no clinical/medical improvements in his assessments-
the drs. urged us to do this 2wks. ago- as they were not seeing improvements that they should have been seeing after the treatment protocols
Friends, please, if you dont have a living will, get one!
if you do, revisit it and make sure your wishes are spelled out specifically- ( how much, how long, etc)
- dont leave any detail out-
Be careful out there fellers, especially you White!-
( this could give a new meaning to the saying: light up the tires!)-
ttyl fellers!- peace to all

It has not been updated this morning, but the tally last night was just over 200 acres burnt. Air support, laying down fire retardent and water is supposed to commence right about now. I took some pics yesterday when it was at 90 or so acres burnt....

I also did a thing yesterday after the Emergency Management team said no homes were in danger.... had a hell of a time getting the high pressure line to seal going into the rack. I wound up ditching the seal it came with and using teflon tape and an o-ring. So far, so good.

Bear.....sorry to hear that your dad isn't getting better. I can relate to that, when my mother got that way. I don't envy you having to come to this conclusion. Oh, and yes I decided after my wife died, to post a living will. Even being a husband, you run into problems when you significant other pases. It can be a legal nightmare, so I agree with your assessment 100%,

Damn Whitey. That doesn't look good, and it's so close to you. It doesn't take long with a small wind to cover 3 miles of distance. Hell, it doesn't take that long without a wind. I hope you guys are all safe and this passes by and doesn't look your way. The big fire at Tok AK is gaining momentum. It seems every few years that area goes up in flames. It closed the highway to the Canadian border a couple times in the past. Wild fires are nothing to blink at. That's for sure. I wish you luck my friend. Keep the water hose out and pressurized.

lil Red finally got washed today. It's the first time since I got him over 2 years ago. Of course he has only about 600 miles, but now it's drive him time. I am surprised how well he cleaned up. I still have a spot repair on the right to do, but it ready for the new paint. Maybe this week if the weather holds up. I have new Depo fogs for the front and they go in after the Xfinity race in a few minutes.

Got new (used) tires mounted on the Stang today... I have a car show on the 9th of August that I was asked to put it in. I don't have the time nor do I have the energy to do anything else to it but clean it before the show..... It is too damn hot.

I also tried to get some more stuff organized, but once again, this blistering heat cut that short too. Plus it smells like smoke pretty bad outside.

The needle on the thermostat is pegged in the garage....

Ak, Red is looking awesome. I can't believe how good that paint still is. Btw did you level your mirrors or just put them up as is?

White, I do a fair bit of controlled burning over here in SC and even a little bit of smoke over an extended period of time can have an effect. If you feel light headed go inside and relax for a bit.

Well... the fire burns on. Still only 5% contained. I am free and clear of danger. The helicopters were going all day yesterday. This info says the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but I've heard a couple witnesses say there was a loud boom, then a big mushroom cloud of black smoke. I am 99.9% sure this is man caused. There are a lot of high school kids always messing around in this area. Wouldn't doubt it if we figure out a kid shot a little propane tank or something like that.

Quick & easy, and they look good!
I'll be interested to know what you think of the light output by comparison, but you won't really be able to tell until October, or so.
