Whitey.......love the idea of the drain. How do you think the white oil drain plug washers would work with that plug design? It would be solid, without flexing and leaking. We did something similar on a circle track car pan. That didn't work on it though. We knocked it off when it went over the bank one race. lol.

2100......that is coming along quite nicely. I knew that front cab mount would be bad. It seems to be the first damn thing to rust. LOL. You are going to be quite happy when you get this thing done and on the road. Maybe not at the gas pump, but the GPM is higher (Grins Per Mile). I guess it could be gallons per mile, but not likely.

Ohio......What is the gauge in the center section? Your dash looks very clean and the paint is very nicely kept. Kudos.

OH, and on the Ranger vs S10 deal. Here in Alaska, there are Rangers and Explorers everywhere. There were a lot of S10's and S10 Blazers sold also. Now with what is still on the road, it has to be at least 75-1 on the Rangers, and just a little less on the Exploders. Lots of GEN 10's too. I saw 23 in just 22 miles of driving coming against me or passing yesterday. They are still everywhere up here. There is a very clean 97 with a bad motor (has 2000 he's trying to install) for sale. He wants 300 and it out of his driveway. Hmm. Nah, I don't need another project. lol

The 98 uses a big honkin o-ring, but the pan is bunged. Like a 18-21mm hex.

I was thinking along the same lines. My Escape has one of those on the oil pan.... I believe it is nylon.

I went out this morning and there was a single drip under it. Found out that a little had got stuck in the lip on the cross member. The plug was dry as a bone.

I bought two of them (one for the Expy too) so I can go size out a nylon, or maybe even brass, washer.

That's a trans temp gauge up by the steering column.

Yes, thanks! The dash is in really great shape overall. The only bad spot is on the far right end (top) where someone wore through the color trying to remove a spot of adhesive or something.

Glad yours is staying dry. For the $30 they cost, I'm thinking about
a Dorman pan a Dorman pan
with the drain already in place.

Thanks, I couldn't have done this without my buddy. Man am I learning a lot. And yes I can't wait till it's back on the road, the gpms are going to be massive! The cab mount surprisingly wasn't too bad... especially considering the amount of dirt stuck up in there. Just a small section at the front (drain side no less) got thin. We got lucky and were able to bend it pretty well with his press. Came out not too shabby

Looks like you're making good progress!

P.S. Missed the post office cutoff today. I'll drop those coils in tomorrow.

How is that gauge hooked up? I mean how is it wired and to what? I've got a program in my Android head, and have a dedicated DTC reader with USB cable that is ran into my USB hub.

It's a dedicated gauge and sensor. One-wire hookup. THIS is the sensor, and take a look HERE for pics of the install.

Does the head unit have Android Auto? If so, you might be able to run Torque Pro , and get virtual gauges on the HU screen.
EDIT: I didn't realize it requires a rooted phone. HERE is an article on it if you're interested (or for anyone else who may be).
