Today I learned that I already use gender neutral pronouns and didn't realize it.
I tend to call everyone I like "Friend" and all I don't like "*******". Both are apparently gender neutral.

My Wife just took a job working with a Government agency. She had to do an entire course... not read a piece of paper... a course/class telling her how to address people. Oddly enough, the guy that taught the class (also a lawyer) told them that they can in fact call people a "Baby", "Whiny Baby", "Cry Baby", etc. because the word Baby is not "protected" or gender specific.
