And I guess this might be why my parking brake wasn't working very well.
The scissor-pivot was siezed solid, and I actually had to work it loose with the bench vice and a hammer. I cleaned them up (both sets) and coated them with aerosol Slip Plate, and put a small dab of caliper grease on the pivot point. Hopefully that will keep things moving freely in the future.
All the rotors have rust protruding into the wear area, and the pads don't appear to be making good full contact on any of them. So, new rotors (thank you COS) and pads up front, new pads, rotors, and parking-brake shoes out back, and a full fluid flush for good measure. (It was due anyway.) Sheesh!
I'm 3 for 4 on completion at the wheels, and still have to do the flush. Evenings this week are sparse, but I'll knock it out.
P. S. COS: That mention of "ceramic" on the Wagner pad boxes is an advertisement for their NXT series pads. The Thermo-Quiets I have are, in fact, semi-metallic.

I thought this kit was going to be knock offs. It has the real deal.
That nice! The connector options you had in the past was either, - the Motorcraft PDF Cat. or Weatherpack I think it was. I don't recall any kits like that..10 years ago anyway. Yea nice.
Dang man...looks like you waited until they glowed in the dark.
"Down to the rivets." The pads had been installed with the squealers outboard, so there was no noise until there was a lot of noise, and that started just as I got into town. By the time I got home, that's what I had.
Has anyone else had trouble with the parking brake actuators siezing/rusting, or have I just been the lucky one?

Bummer, yea that will do it.
Michigan truck...deleted the the parking brake system at 65,000 miles on the 98 150. So I or anyone else wouldn't become stranded in the truck.....or forced to burn them up of course. No way to prevent the system from locking up....inevitable .
Ohio... At least you didn't get down as far as this Lincoln I saw in the wrecking yard... I literally saw the "disc" moving in the breeze.
EDIT: When my Buddy came over on Sunday, he told me he received a piece of mail saying we will soon officially have fiber in our neighborhood. I've inquired with them... might switch if it sounds good...
