My Buddy just picked up a 2017 Flex for 4200. Only has 100K. When he told me (it was a Friday) I thought it sounded sketchy as hell. On Monday we come into work (he got me the job here 28 years ago) and he told me the dash came on and said that the ECU was bad, and not to drive the vehicle to prevent engine damage.
He just got a Flagship ECU for it, and is going to try it tonight. The seller of the Flex conveniently had just put a new battery in it, and had bought it at auction to resell.
It sounds fishy... and I hope the FS1 ECU fixes all of it. I'm betting the ECU got wet somehow. Ford is usually pretty solid when it comes to ECU's.
Been sitting on I80 for almost 2 hours. The word is that there was a wrong way driver that was spotted in Lake Point, just before the I80 entrance. , The driver wouldn't stop, and actually made it onto I80. So a Trooper did a head on to keep the car from killing someone on I80
I actually passed someone going the wrong way on my side of the freeway once. It was almost surreal thinking "What the hell? Is that car... YES IT IS!" I wasn't the first who had called 911. It must have ended without incident, as I never saw anything in the news.
On another subject: I went out this evening and did a bedding-in process for my new brakes. Traffic was such at I was able to follow it to the letter including not touching the brakes during a 15-munute cool-down ride back to my house and basically coasting to a stop in the driveway. The front rotors look *perfect.* Lightly blued with a touch of gray.
The rears will take a little more driving to get the full pad surface set, but this looks like a good start.
I didn't realize until later tonight that the truck that I saw sitting on this tow truck was part of the accident. Not sure if this was the "wrong way" driver or not, because there was one more vehicle involved. I am about 90% sure this truck was the drunk/wrong way driver. I'm curious if the U-Haul trailer had any play in this at all. Kind of random that it would just happen to be at the same place/same time here.
EDIT: This was the truck... looks to be facing oncoming traffic. Driver was still in the truck, BTW.... he is fine. State Trooper is fine as well.
This Trooper is a hero today. Wish I knew who the name of the Trooper... I know two guys that drive the Suburban/Tahoe.
