But yeah, water is a force to be reckoned with for sure!

That's a scary situation, in 6 months it moved 4.5" then what, during the next 3 it moves almost 4 feet. But, city (salt lake officials) say there's no need to be alarmed...what! What about the 100 year rain mandate? That one resident, poor lady looked frightened and they haven't so much as talked with her. I hope they find the time now, hate seeing that.

Thanks fellas, I think it was pucker seal and lock mode for a bit there. But I had to change everything after blowing out the plug chambers. I couldn't get the damn timing right.

I kept the r's out of instinct I guess, once they stall it's all over without a snorkey. Iduno happened fast, water beaten on the passenger door for a bit, it was high enough to push the front of truck about 15' over until the d-side front tire got a bite on something to shoot the truck (at an angle) backwards. Took some power, all it had to get out the rest of the way, it was fairly steep. It was a Field and Steam "This happened to me" moment. Or is that Outdoor Life ?

Didn't you have similar situation, actually 10 times worse.. squared ?. Yea, you lost your house and headed for high ground if remember right ?

They have everything blocked off now. I attempted to get some sleep, dozed of for a couple hours, went out to the shop to confirm it wasn't a dream....but, I was shocked into a quick rise and shine once my naked feet hit the cold water...180'ed it, got some boots, double back once more and put some clothes on. Shut the hood I left open and took a short cruise, yea it's a circle jerk down there now. Party store owner can't percolate coffee fast enough I expect with all this attention lol.
Yeh I had something similar happen but I knew exactly what I was getting ready to do so I locked her in 4-Lo and dove in... Im not sure if the anxiety made it better or a hell of a lot worse. LOL

I guess these trucks are a whole lot tougher than most people give them credit for.

Glad you made it out bud.

I can't believe this. 1AAuto has discontinued the tow mirrors.

I made sure and let them know that they are going to miss out on possibly thousands in sales for discontinuing the mirrors. I also let them know what they were being used for and how much interest was generated. The person I've been emailing said they would forward the message on to a "manager". I probably got the literal last set of them. This really bugs me because I know how many of you guys and more have been wanting a legit tow mirror....

Maybe for you guys that are really interested, you could email them asking for more production. It could help. The part number is 1AMRP01441. Include that in your message if you so choose to.

I may have found an alternative. I know that some of the guys that have done the mirrors in the past used expedition mirrors. So I did some digging on 1AAuto and I found what looks to be the exact same mirror. The part number is only one digit off. It's the last digit being a 2 instead of a 1. Looking at the pictures, the mounting bases are exactly the same. Cost is only a few dollars more as well. There is 1 review with a guy saying he put them on a 2001 supercrew but had to solder in his electrical plug.

If one of you guys is serious about wanting to do this mod and purchase these mirrors, I will send all of the pictures I took to start my thread and tell you everything that has to be done to make them fit.

If not I will stop cluttering up AK's thread with this mirror stuff. But based on the pictures on the website and the review of the guy using them on an 01 supercrew I would say we could be back in business. Here's the link.
