Well, my Truck Norris survived a road wash out head on just a few hours ago. The asphalt road getting out to the main road get's bad quickly. Develops occasional chuck holes which have been extremely bad this year from what I hear. I've only been here a couple years and it's a lake/golf course community of sorts. Not as ritzy as it sounds or expensive. I purchased a fixer-upper as always, to give you some idea lol. Problem is the high water table, frost coming out the ground and it's been raining heavy for two days. The road is poorly lit and once the sun goes down and when wet you can't see the road surface very well. I couldn't see the river flowing across the road because of the glare. Went head on into at 35/40 mph. Water enveloped the truck stopping it before crashing into the other side which dropped straight off. My heads where level with the road surface at the front of the truck. Take a sec to imagine being in the situation lol.
The water was flowing fast and pushed the to the other side before I got in in 4WD, reverse and floored it lol. It took some doing but I manged to slowly make headway backing out. Kept loosing traction and the force of the water kept pushing the front over. The rear tires came off the ground on occasion, then contacted for sec. I got lucky, both front wheels well one of them, hit ground at the same time and the truck jumped backwards just enough. Gave it hell and was successful. Glad I had new tires on her.
Going to check fluids now. I 911'ed and asked that they bring cones or shut the road down. They said they have been notified and the road is indeed shut down. I never made it that far to see that, they shut down one side but not the other. NO signs at the wash out...yet. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, like perfectly! Couldn't of planned that better. This truck is a survivor yet again.

Wow man, that sounds intense. Glad to hear that you and the truck are ok. You seem to always want the very best for your truck, how come you've never done a projector retrofit on the old girl? Mine are 3 years old now and anytime I drive anything without them I hate it. Vision is so much improved, I think you would really benefit from a set.

Guys, I was just attempting to start the write up on the mirrors, but when I went to the website to grab the link, I couldn't find it. They are flat out not there anymore. I sent 1AAuto an email explaining my issue and the fact I ordered them a week ago. I also explained how much interest there was in their product so hopefully it's just a glitch on their site. As of right now I can't do the write up because I can't link you guys to a set of mirrors I know for a fact work.
I got a little water through firewall grommets, none in the cab. Trans looks clean, My axle breather was just high enough, I have to check the transfer case yet. Engine is fine, airbox took a little, but I incorporated a drain long ago. Not to mention I extended the intake pipe for 100% cold air intake long ago as well, that helped the most. Surprised the cab didn't take on water, I got out just in time most likley. I haven't checked the cab trough. I have drains there as well.
