Cheesus Rice, Rock band from the early 80s. Put out such classics as Love on the rib bone and Cob in the cornhole.

I figured it was something like that, but are these old Tauruses and Mark VIIIs really using PCM signals?

Time to state over with a new kit, and solder.
I thought about it but I think I'm going to just go with it and try to forget what I saw. Hard to believe but it works.

Each wire has a butt splice to a tiny length of wire that connects to a slightly longer piece of stereo wire in the crimp cap, and then butt spliced to the harness. WTF were they thinking?!?

No, that is why we can use those old fans.

I posit the second radio change had the wires mixed up and the (wannabe) installer just cut the wires, randomly twisted them together until it worked, then crimp capped the twisted wires.

But that's my point... what's wrong with the controller already in the car with the old fans?
