We have a "hard freeze" alert for the night. I just went downstairs real quick and drained the sprinkler system. Whoever thought of putting the sprinkler shutoff and drain in the houses here was a complete genius. I've only seen it in this neighborhood.

Okay, I scribbled down the dimensions off that link you posted, I'll wait for box to come around.

It drains the entire system, you don't have to blow them out ? I haven't seen that yet.

I can blow them out, but by the time it's drained, there isn't enough to do anything if it does freeze. I've never done anything but drain them so far, and it's been good.

I know it's not healthy welding on your back, hell I've caught fire before. But not welding in the garage ? That's a little paranoid isn't it lol.

Sorry to hear that about your buddy though. Hope he's okay.

That simplifies things, as long you don't forget anyway.

Lol, yep. I damn near forgot today. I also put the faucet covers on the hose bibs. I'm feeling alright about it now, lol. Now I just need to get 4 vehicles ready for winter.

I wonder if I'll ever slide into winter thinking I got everything accomplished that I needed to during the summer?

Lol nope, not here anyway. There's still stuff I need to get done. I think Mother Nature might turn on us real quick. Things keep popping up, - hope it's not a last minute hurry up.

Same here... I was going to take Thursday and Friday off to try and catch up a bit - but the weather won't let me do anything.

It's showing good weather here for the next couple of weeks, rain here and there. Cold and rainy, snow already over there, is it going to last awhile ? I wanted to try to at least get half that cover done before it all goes south. That way I could probably some how use the old cover with it to get me thru this winter.. Might have to pin that old cover down like Ohio suggested earlier. It's going to take awhile to make top section.

Now I'm thinking I better throw more Eternabond down on the roof. That things got me paranoid now lol. Nah , that should be water tight now. It was suppose to be a fall project completed before winter. There's a lot of detail in the top section. Still have to fit the kids roof in as well, going to be cutting it close.

Just checked the weather, it's 39 in SLC, and 32 down south. It says they are getting snow right now. Just rain here, so far.
