Well... the dude I was going to help with his Mustang today canceled on me. I was going to put lowering springs, struts, shocks, and caster/camber plates on it for him.
Also, went to the doc yesterday as a follow up on the cyst she removed. It's healing up nicely, but the damn thing is still draining. She told me that I must have a high tolerance for pain. I seriously couldn't even feel anything but an itch.
Now I need to figure out what I'm going to do to Frankie today... still developing a plan of attack for the hatch. I either cut the corner out that I need and patch it in, or patch the **** out of the LX hatch holes to make it work. The GT uses 3 holes on each side for the spoiler, while the LX has 12 or 14 (lost track) and 2 screws. Two of the three holes (per side) that the GT uses are not cut out of the LX hatch already, so in addition to patching 10 to 12 holes, I'll need to make new holes if I use the LX hatch. Also, someone else already used my idea on it. Look what I found last night when I shined a flashlight in there.
I went with plan C. Mixed the freaking Bondo way too hard though. Waiting a few more minutes to sand it down a bit.
Also had a hell of a time not blowing through the original sheet metal. My neighbor gave me a chunk of 22 gauge that I had no issues at all with, but the original metal was a &*+=] to weld to. Eventually I realized that making no holes was going to be key, and leave the rest to the Bondo.
That's a lot of extra work, White. I would have probably just st looked for a GT hatch. That said, I had my LX hatch welded up so I could put a GT spoiler on it.
I've looked for GT hatches. I found 4 hatches, all LX. Lots of "I might have one's" and " I have one, but it needs a lot of work's". Well... I was in the same boat. For me, this seemed easier. I assume you also had someone punch the other 4 holes in the hatch for you?
My Buddy just called me. The T5 will be done tomorrow! It will pretty much be built to the Z-spec specs, just like The Eight Nine is.
Got some friends coming over in a minute, so I had to hang up the tools for the night. My friend the the 05 that's supercharged is coming over for dinner tonight.

Although, the Z spec has a 2.95 first gear and a 0.63 overdrive. I forgot about that part - mine both maintain the 3.35 first and 0.68 overdrive.

I'm learning, lol.
I think it's 24 gauge. Well that's what I use, not sure you can get 22....maybe? You might have been able to shave that or fill the holes with a copper spoon applied to one side.....if possible. The metal might be too corroded. That thin stuff usually has to be like new to pull that off. A little corrosion can make that impossible... and you may be stomping your feet and throwing shiii once the hole monstersizes the first time you touch it with the welder lol.
I may have attempted it if I could have clamped either copper, brass or aluminum to on side. That metal looks a little ruff.
