2100, I personally don't like pickle forks.... but in your case, it might be OK. I always destroy whatever boot it is with a pickle fork. I'd just rent an entire front end kit from AZ.
well all the parts with boots are getting replaced so im not too concerned about that lol. I was watching some YT videos and it looks dang near impossible to get the pitman arm off without either grinding it open or using a pickle fork. If youve done this job, is there a good way to do it? I dont think a pitman arm puller will fit down there as its a pretty tight space. IDK tho just what Ive seen from the YT videos. Last time I farmed this out to a local offroad shop but they are in the town im moving to not the town im in lol. So im trying to do this all myself. Tie rod ends should be easy enough and ill get them "close enough" and then go get an alignment. Idler arm looks easy enough to get out and so replacing it should be easy... just the pitman arm that looks like it can be a real PITA. Im open to suggestions tho Ive never done them on this truck.
Just be sure to not put the idler in upside down. I've seen a couple guys on here put it in upside down, then it rubs the **** out of their frame.
Cutting into the pitman, as far as you dare to, then hitting it with a chisel is the method I'm going to use (a friend of mine suggested it a while back). I can honestly say I've never needed to replace a pitman arm. And, I still may not if mine is OK. I just know for sure I need tie rods. The boots are shot.

Yeah cutting it and chisel were all over YT as "tips and hacks" so I may give that a try first and if not resort to other tools. Im annoyed cz I had a shop replace pitman/idler in 2013 and then another shop in 2014 (im dumb and apparently forgot I had done it and so didnt get my warranty. Now 5.5 years later I need new ones again. Not sure what the problem is. This time tho they will be MOOG so I should be good. Yeah my tie rods inner and outer both move with my hand. Not super loose but definitely easy to move by hand.
