Thinking
I like this smartass smiley.I've been participating in a discussion elsewhere about the bending (elastic) properties of the teeth in hypoid gear sets and how it effects slip and mesh. I'll ask about this and see if anyone has anything to say about this possibly being about more than ring gear bolt torque. The obvious answer isn't always the right answer and when it's not things can get interesting.
Noobie, Interesting. Are some of these things showing up now just a coincidence or is there more to it? At what point does warehousing some inventory become more trouble than what it's worth? It would be interesting if Ford and others came up with a schedule for clearing out unnecessary inventory. If people knew what was coming every year or couple of years that piggy bank in the bottom drawer of the tool chest could become "investment capital" the boss may not know about.
