2 doors down I've got a neighbor that's somewhere between 23 and 25 years old, works at Jeep, still lives at home and has in the driveway a trailer with 2 nice jet skis on it which gets traded out for snow mobiles in the winter, a sleek looking, gloss black jet boat, a nice small 16'-18' travel trailer and a funky looking, new Jeep. Looked it up rather than describing it. It's a Gladiator. The rag top is seldom on it so I assume the interior is waterproof? Last night was trash night and coming home from walking the dog the 2 front seats from Jeep were in the trash. They were really nice seats. Hurried home, put the dog in the back yard, grabbed the tow dolly and went for the seats. I got past the point in the driveway where I could see his yard and someone was already there grabbing the seats. Did I say they were really nice seats? Darn.

He's a good neighbor. Last week he threw 2 of these out, B&P manufacturing # NCR2727 listed at $226 each:

No questions about who was in charge and who decided when it was over.

Considering ring gear bolt torque, how much will buff out and Occam, even though the simplest answer is usually correct it's not always correct.

This is never something you want to see while trying to make a repair with CHKDSK.

I would *not* want to be on the receiving end of that rhino bashing!

On the ring gear bolts, in this case, the simple answer is the only answer. Every single bolt was backed out or missing. "The drunk" installed them finger tight, and never torqued them down.

So got an oil change today and the dealership told me I was going to die driving home. Said everything in my front end was falling apart. Well I got home and sure enough my tie rods pitman and idler arm were bad so $200 to amazon later and I have all moog problem solvers coming to my house thursday... still stings a little. Btw having said that does anyone have a recommendation on a pickle fork set? Is the ball joint separator from HF worth the $10? Autozone has a 5 piece set for $50 (OEM brand) and then NAPA has some stuff. Just looking for a good kit that will last me a while and since I am not a full time mech I dont need SNAP ON with their SNAP ON prices lol. Also I was surprised it was as bad as it was (not as bad as Chicken Little told me at the dealership) but I can take my hand off the wheel and drive straight at 50mph with my worn down 35s (btw need new tires still.. like real bad probably within the next week or two). and my steering isnt any looser than its been in the 6yrs Ive owned it. BUT the icing on the cake is i just dropped $300 on new brakes for the wife. A few days ago it started pulling to the right so I figured at 250,000 miles and original calipers I should replace the calipers even if something else is causing the pull. While I was under there the rubber hoses were dry rotted and cracked so new hoses then the rotors have been warped for some time now and no time like the present to fix that so new rotors... only good thing was I got new pads for free since they were lifetime warranty. Lasted 4 years and still had some meat left but again while Im here and getting everything else new, might as well do pads lol. Now the escape stops like a dream tho! Definitely feel better now that the brakes are fixed.

Oh white that tekton torque wrench showed up today... man that thing is beefy lol.

So in the last 2 days Ive dropped $500 on our vehicles, still need to buy a pickle fork set and still have to spend $1200ish on tires in the weeks to come lol. All this while we have been getting our house ready to sell. Pictures are getting taken tomorrow and officially goes on the market Thursday!

Wow that turned into a long post lol

Swapped the tank in the 98 finally, - trucks been sitting since the beginning of winter.

Perhaps I'll put a how-to thread together.

My Wife's grandparents lived in Ivins, and there are some notorious "mechanics" in Southern Utah. Wondering if it was one of them. There is another "mechanic" at the gas station at the Beaver exit that comes out to females getting gas.... and he explains to them that he could see from a mile away that their tires were bulging, and he just happens to have a set on special. He tried to pull it on my Wife shortly after my FIL had put new tires on her car. Dishonesty at its finest.

2100, I personally don't like pickle forks.... but in your case, it might be OK. I always destroy whatever boot it is with a pickle fork. I'd just rent an entire front end kit from AZ.
