Maybe a wire tuck is the next project I should consider. It does look a lot better with some of it hidden. It's a big job, though.

I knew what you were talking about but other than being aware of the transmission I don't know much about it except T5 or not can get contentious with some of the Cobra kit car makers. When you posted about what you're looking for your T5's I went looking to see what I could find about how available they are as both new or rebuilt and as garage or salvage yard finds. The first thing that came up was the Germany thing about the Mustang name. All of that was new to me and thought probably new to some others also so I shared it here. So if you should ever find yourself talking T5's with someone with a strange accent and drinking huge mugs of smelly warm beer and it seems like the two of you are talking about something completely different? Now you know if you didn't already/ lol

That's more than a close shave for a Razor!

Yea , I just watched half of it so far. The driver was very lucky he wasn't strapped in on that ride. Not much left of the Razor.

How much room do you have on your firewall? I always found the firewall to be the best place to start. If you can't get past that than it's a lot of work for what ends up looking incomplete. There are companies that have a lot to help with cleaning up the engine bay. For example, Engineered Components offers brake vacuum boosters that go underneath the vehicle. They started offering components to help during the street rod era. They've been at it awhile.

EDIT: I assume you're not talking about a modular but when it comes to modular most people don't even try. You're almost guaranteed to have to cut out and move the firewall and then making another as a cover to try and fit in.

Firewall is not a good place on a Fox, IMHO. The cowl gets too much water for me to consider it.

Just looked... DMV opens at 8 am. I sure hope they don't give me a bunch of static. I might have to get my angry face on.

EDIT: It is proving to be way difficult to find an 87-93 passenger door. You can use an 87-93 on 79-86, but not vice versa. They changed the door handle location in 87, and added provisions for that.... but also left the old stuff intact... so all you really need to do is fill in the holes for the window belt molding for a late door on an early car.

My Buddy has perfect doors, but they are early style..

Does anyone know of a source for leather? It doesn't matter what kind of fish it comes from. (that's a bad joke btw) I can find all kinds of leather but not what I'm looking for. I have to have a carrying satchel made with handles and a strap. What I'm looking for is that really thick stuff I've seen before. 1\4 inch or more. Needs to be tanned but no color is needed. There's all kinds of tanned and colored hides available for car seats and furniture, etc. but I only need a yard, maybe a yard and a half of the heavy duty stuff that hasn't been shaved. Quality as far as blemishes, etc. doesn't matter.

EDIT: I'm looking for something at least 6.5 mm thick. Best I can find tops out at about 4 mm.

Heck, River! With 12-ounce leather, you could carry a couple/few hundred pounds! I'd give Tandy Leather a call.
