Northern Truck AK. The studs are seriously rusted and almost guaranteed to break. One already has.
Drilling and tapping looks like it's going to be a nightmare.

Soak those studs w a good penetrant (I use Acetone and ATF mixed 50-50). Others use Kroil etc. Before you try removing them, heat the motor to warm or better then try removing the studs. This will help a lot in removing them.. Good luck

Glad the rear end swap went well.

you CANNOT beat acetone/atf. Working on my 74, i had tried everything but the kitchen sink... and acetone/atf. Once I tried the acetone/atf the rusty bolts just walked off themselves. I couldnt believe how much better it worked. Either that or its a case of the " i loosened it for you" and everything leading up had already broken up the rust lol. Jokes aside... use the mix if ya can.

I've never tried ATFcetone, but will definitely keep it in mind. It looks like it even beats Kroil

One of ProjectFarm videos reviewed it too. It didnt beat heat (acetylene torch not a lighter lol) and liquid wrench but it beat out everything else. It didnt lose by much to liquid wrench and that was one of the cans i tried on my 74 before the atf/acetone mix worked so ymmv. But if you have both on hand like I did, it becomes way cheaper than going out and buying all these special cans that claim to help.

ProjectFarm has actually done like 3 videos i believe on rust penetrants.

Is that a new word I haven't heard yet? LOL.

I was browsing Amazon a couple days ago, and I stumbled upon a Spectra Premium 351 TFI dizzy for 21 bucks. So, here it is, LOL.

Do I need it? No. But here it is.

Rivers... I just hopped on Youtube to cruise around, and looks what popped up. LOL. Fedex trucks use the same type of brake.

Yep, parcel trucks have these in most of them. Some of the newer trucks are now going to a cable style brake again. I think the new UPS is e cabled in the UK. At least it looks like a hanging cable in the new pictures..

Any of the trucks with the ebrake lever to the center of the truck and with a handle use these trans drum ebrakes.

Interesting. Didn't watch the entire 25 minutes but he does bring up the same concerns I had about having no brake or trans when working on the brake. Thanks White.

$21 . You can't go wrong for that.

I wonder why they don't just use the same principle as a racing trans brake and lock the transmission? Same principle involved and can be no more elaborate.
