Thinking
Wow, only two years ? Are they sitting on the grass, worst place for a vehicle to sit. Actually, it's terrible storing anything outside under a tarp except for maybe a boat. Still the trailer takes a beating. Can't believe that, must be defective ehh. Learned long ago about storing anything for long periods of time. Stored the truck for 5 or 6 years. But that was in a garage on concrete w/vapor barrior firing it up every 3 months and putting 20 or 30 miles on it on stands. That worked great! Ran the engine and trans long enough to lube the seals and burn off moisture by-product in the engine.
See:
That's great! Only way to do better is storing in a controlled environment. Use to have a heated little shop, not here though, miss it! Well not yet anyway, haven't decided to make the investment again. It sure helped with selling my last place though, guy loved the shop lol.
I have an old set of BFG's I've been hanging onto, well just two tires w/50% tread that still look good. Not sure if I can trust them though, they have been in storage since 05.

Good morning AK, and all you thinkers!-
That is beautiful AK!- was that taken around Anchorage?
Ive always been told that letting a vehicle set is harder on it than driving it everyday!- i had the same thing happen to my old Mustang before i give it to my 1/2 brother- everything that was rubber was starting to weather check and dry rot!

Hey Bear and all the Halloweenies out there. Happy Holloweeenie.
I was trying to get a bolt off today on my take out 9.75 axle assy, and couldn't budge that damn thing. I tried straight heat to no avail. Then I remembered a trick my GFather showed me. I took a candle and melted it just a bit onto the threads with some heat from my bar-bie's spare lighter. The damn thing almost fell off on its own after that.
I don't know why at times, a person (me), forgets the simplest things that always seem to work. I felt like an idiot for not remembering that. I'm glad I did in the end though. lol
How many of you guys have used this trick? I know for a fact that it works. You just can't overdue it.
