So I got the replacement vacuum line and replaced the o-ring for the fuel pressure sensor. Put the battery back in and attempted to crank and it's not even cranking all the way. Not throwing any codes but my scanner is showing 'timing advance - 10'

Did I eff up something here? What could be the issue? I've checked to make sure everything is all plugged up properly and there is nothing making contact with the belts or anything like that.

Anything I can check for or do before I decide to take it all apart again?

if it's saying timing is off, unfortunately it's off...

So I'm looking at breaking it all down again? I have no idea where it would have went wrong. Unless the black linked chains are somehow different than bronze linked chains...

****.

if it's not even cranking is say you have something else going on.

It's getting a very slow crank.

Acts like the battery is near dead, but voltage is reading 11.6 volts.

I'm having a hard time believing the timing could be off unless the rough start it had when I put it all back together made it jump timing.

Any other ideas before I start draining fluids and taking everything apart?

Well since it came out of the shop I've ran it with several different oils, each for about a week. By far the least noise was with 15w45 - noise was there only once every 2-3 starts. Then I put in 5w20 - noise was there on every start, longer and more consistently. That was the reason for trying 20w50 - I actually read several people's posts who were driving their trucks on this oil weight.

This is the first engine I see that is so picky towards oil... anyway it's not so bad that now it's much noisier. Hopefully when I have time to take it to the shop they'll actually be able to hear the problem, because until now it was not 100% "duplicable". I have to do a recording and post it here so that we can all see what type of noise it is etc.
