2011+ 55-60mph 5.0 Shuddering and EcoBoost Engine Miss/Loss of Power - Possible Fixes
"when he emerged, he had the tsb for 5-10 mph shudder printed out, stated that they could not find the TSB that i was referencing, and swore that the issue had been resolved. No further discussion was allowed as the service manager darted away , shoving the service paperwork and the TSB that didn't apply in my hand. "
Nice! How can he say he can't find the TSB? Every other dealer has it! Hell, we all know of it. That kind of service drives me insane.

So, the Ford rep called me today and she wants me to take my truck back to the dealer, a tech and an engineer are going to look at my truck. I suggest everyone call customer care, because my truck now has a case number assigned and everything is being documented.
I took my truck in a couple of weeks ago and had tsb 12-2-10 done. I saw no difference in mpg or the shutter. However, last week I got a phone call from a customer service manager at the dealership to see if I was happy with the service I received. I have never dealt with or talked to this woman before. It is just a customer service follow up thing they do I guess. I explained the situation and told her that the service I received from the dealership was fine but that I was getting tired of hearing that a fix is coming from Ford for the shutter issue. She said she would have a customer service rep from Ford get in touch with me. Sure enough a couple of hours later a customer service rep from Ford called me and took some info opened up a case for me and gave a free 5yr/75k extended warranty for the transmission. This is probably just another case of Ford blowing smoke but it kind of took me by surprise that they called me and did that without me calling and pitching a fit.
Just an FYI don't lose your printed service records. And if something is not on your service printout that should be on there don't leave the dealer until they alter it to reflect what should be on there. Like a refusal to repair, or acknowledgment of an issue with no resolution.
Don't think for a second that Ford Customer Care is or will keep your records for you. About 50% of what I discussed with Ford magically disappeared when they showed up for arbitration. You're best defense is accurate records of your own.

So far, I think BobMac might be the only 5.0L with an engine misfire detected. Not 100% sure on that. Perhaps people are confusing the misfire with a slight transmission shutter? If more 5.0L's have had an engine misfire pick up on the ford diagnostics laptop, please post it here.
Today I am still experiencing the shudder and it is at all speeds but albeit not as bad as it originally started out. The tranny is slipping, slamming into gear and when in a parking lot and stopping and putting it in reverse it will first slip, then slam into reverse...this tranny is the biggest POS ever to come out of an American Manufacturer.

I have said this before, I have never driven a vehicle that ran more poorly, that didn't have a check engine light on.
I have a trip to Baltimore coming up next month. I may take the truck, not sure yet. Only going to do that if I cant cram all the gear and family in the Escape.
