Well, like I said, I'm pretty patient.

Besides, I highly doubt that Ford is going to say, "Hey, the dealership didn't fix it AND they haven't even had a Ford Engineer take a crack at it, but let's just refund you $70K and call it even."

We shall see ...

I've been driving a non-charge loaner for about 3 weeks. I'll give them the opportunity to get the Engineer in from Ford to get it right, as they often have far more tools and knowledge than some dealership techs.

If it wouldn't take 6 months and thousands of dollars more (due to price increases for the '22s), I would/will likely pursue a buyback/new purchase IF the Ford Engineer can't get it all resolved.

I'm a fairly understanding and tolerant guy when this stuff happens, but this last month is REALLY taxing my patience and ability to stay calm.
I found the only way to get an engineer from Ford involved it to finally file a complaint for a buyback via Fords mediator BBB.(it’s in your manual). Even then it has taken over a month to get the engineer involved. Dealer has had my truck for a week now and still working on it. Good luck.

I'm actually on first name basis with the owner (they own two Ford dealerships and one Lincoln dealership). I asked him this AM to get involved and he said he would expedite. The only other time I've asked him to get involved in the past, he made things happen. I'm still giving them the benefit of the doubt -- for now.

So you're saying your battery, on an 8A charger, went dead while they were performing SW updates? That doesn't even sound right.

I think they lied. If it went dead, the didn't have a charger on it, 8A or otherwise.

People that were updating themselves struggled to maintain battery voltage with a 20A charger during updates on non-Powerboost trucks. They didn't have issues with the charger in power supply mode, but strictly charge mode had issues. You may get away with a 10A power supply, but I can't be certain.
