What I mean by "dropped off the system", when I couldn't connect the truck to FORD Pass(FP) app at the dealer, we called FORD Pass and firs they thought the truck was still in Transport mode. But the FP rep was digging around and she goes Oh, I see, the last time we saw the truck was May 13th (a month earlier), so they thought the modem needed to be reset. Did that, no change. Then reloaded all software module by module, no change. They finally deduced the APIM must be bad, but the reason that SSM was noted is, it states (I am sure you are aware) that no APIM should be replaced until after this solution they are working on is rolled out in Q4. I assume they believe that the APIM's are good and it is all software but FORD Pass said they should still be able to see/ping the truck and right now, they can't.

So APIM ordered and I wait, but like I said, no big whoop to me, Android auto works fine.

Just to satisfy my own sense of doing everything possible, I moved a wifi satellite to a window that looks out over where the truck is parked 40 yards away. Signal is better so if it wants to take an update, off wifi rather than cell it can. Truck is getting much more usage these days, except for last week when I was away.
