Thats the one that Ford Pass says my truck recieved on May 2nd. But the truck screen does not indicate any recent updates. So much for an improved "Connectivity Experiance".
I got an update overnight that failed to download last November. Only difference between then and now is my time behind the wheel last time was limited. Last few days have seen plenty of miles driven including over 120 yesterday ensured a well charged battery.
i wonder what Ford has planned for my truck next? I know apple is about to unleash massive Carplay changes.
I think I'm start to understand what's going on in my truck - I was seemingly stuck on update 23-PU1113-UNX-DC for months, and I'd get the "your truck is scheduled to receive an update" every few days, but it would still do that same cycle over and over... amd I noticed that it had a green checkmark next to it on the "update details" page.
After rugedraw confirmed that update had already successfully installed months ago, I reset a couple modules and, over the next week after that, I think I had a couple other updates that successfully installed (I didn't write them down and I don't get the emails in the fordpass app for some reason).
And now I'm seemingly stuck in the same loop with update 23-PU1024-6CH-AUD - I saw it with a yellow "needs to download" icon one day, then the next time it popped up it has had the green checkmark.
So, in way too many words, I think part of the update module is that it doesn't stop the cycle when there's no updates in the queue, it just keeps the cycle but displays the most recent successful update, making it SEEM like it's not updating, when in fact it has....
Somewhat annoying, but oh well, I just ignore it now.
There is nothing to "figure out". You/we have NO control over when Ford pushes an OTA update to your/our vehicles. Period.
As I just shared in my last post, if you want to drop the $540 on a Mongoose-Plus andthen $50 for a 2-day FDRS subscription, you can update whenever there is something available. But that doesn't change anything with the OTA process.
No, Ford doesn't have any "do not update" list (sounds like you're referring to YOUR truck being on a list somewhere). The only time Ford will pause an update (for everyone) is if there is a problem with it.
Yes, I agree (unfortunately) that we have no control. That leads to uncertainty and, at times, frustration. Actually, the vehicle i was referring to in my "no-update list" speculation is my 2016 Ford Escape. That vehicle has always had auto-updates turned on (since 2016) and has never received a single one. Conversely, my truck did receive an update earlier this year, so maybe it will again.
In saying a "no-update list" what I was thinking was actually the reverse --- some sort of eligibility list. That is, perhaps Ford software will try to do an update if, but only if, the vehicle is on some list of vehicles in a particular category. It possibly could be that for some reason (such as not responding to Ford queries for a period of time), the algorithm removes the vehicle from the eligibility list. That would be a mechanism for Ford software to remove vehicles from eligibility if they were no longer in service, or some such. In my case, if Ford did that, it could be because the vehicle was inoperable for a period of time while at the Ford dealer's service department. It is all just my speculation on how the system operates.
In the historic sci-fi fantasy movie "2001 -- the space odyssey" the computer, HAL, takes on an existence of its own, outside the control or knowledge of any of its keepers. That's my feel of what's happened to the Ford update system. It keeps on running, giving updates out as it chooses, without anyone anywhere actually understanding what it is doing. This is my imagination running, purely fiction, without facts (smile). If someone actually knows what the Ford update system is doing, I wish they would tell us.
Rugedraw is there anyway you can see how far behind on updates I am, 24-PU0121-FTDI-FX just installed this weekend but 6.8 was the last update I've seen before that. My VIN is 1FTFW1E89NFA68427 thanks again for your help!

So I recently had my APIM module replaced and it’s finally showing the update number with a revisions number. I have a 2021, currently on 21146 revision 145. I know I need an update but I have no idea when I’ll actually receive an update. Can anyone help?

Yeah I was in same boat, you'll need the mongoose and FDRS, after 2 1/2 yrs I'm up to date. I was at 21223 product and 197 revision, now I'm at 23291 and 1049 revision.

so you weren’t able to receive any updates at all over OTA? On the ford website it’s also showing no sync version. But in the truck I’m able to schedule updates and auto updates is not greyed out.

was not able to recieve anything even after 2 apims. When I updated with fdrs it must have triggered the tcu? To help it communicate better. I am now getting updates🫰I make sure when I park my truck that keys are away from truck, manually turn out the lights to off, and turn on emergency brake.
