The only way is to unplug the TCU. Say goodbye to all connected services including Fordpass if you do that. Also, it will not report any codes or info to the cloud. I would not recommend this.

What is it you are trying to avoid/accomplish by doing this? There has to be a better way.

Like Rugdraw stated you can turn off automatic updates and you wont receive anymore updates. What I did was leave auto updates on but set the schedule to none so it downloads updates but I have to manually install them. This way I still have the option to install orf ignore an update.

Auto updates only applies to updates that require the vehicle to be inhibited. Non-inhibit updates will still install even if auto-updates are set to off.

Very unlikely. Many people call it that as a joke.

Quick update, manifest was whacked. Rugedraw helped get it straightened out and everything in FDRS except BCM is done (needs a password). More work to do to fix some manifest issues and a couple of updates missing as a consequence, but I’m miles ahead. Even had time to get my brother’s truck up to date.

Do you get a notice that they're available?

Default Software updates in Fordpass

I don't know if this is related directly enough to be in this thread. Direct me elsewhere, if not.

Before I updated everything with Fordpass, my updates were fairly up-to-date but the update status in my Android Fordpass app was not. The last update shown there was several updates prior to the one that happened most recently. Now that I've updated with FDRS, there's no software update shown at all.

Does anyone know how to get FordPass to sync correctly? I've deleted the app and reinstalled it. Obviously this isn't crucial but it bugs me.

I have found that any update I have done in FDRS is not reflected in any of the Ford systems I have access to. So the Ford website, Ford Pass and even the truck itself has no record of the updates in the Software Updates screens.

I am fully up to date with Sync 23291 installed back in February, but when I check with Ford, they say my latest update is the Digital Owners manual I got OTA in September of '23.

My pleasure to be able to help; but I had help helping you, so credit to Jesse, as well.
