Hey,

I took my truck to my local Ford dealer and asked them if my 2021 Ford F150 Sync 4 was up to date. They told me that it is up to date, but after reading some of the comments in this thread I am starting to wonder if that is true. @rugedraw , I think I see that you have the ability to check Sync version status. Do you mind checking my VIN? 1FTEW1C87MKD96840

Thank you,

Thank you,
That software is about a year old and three Sync versions old. You're missing 22192, 22293 and 23031 to be fully to to date. I don't even need my computer to know you are behind on updates.

Ford does not pay dealers for the hours upon hours it takes to update modules, so don't expect much help from them.

Thank you for confirming what I suspected. Do you have any advice on how I can fix this. My over the air updates don't seem to work. I tried the report an issue trick, but that didn't seem to work.

Thanks,

Does the software version or revision change with every update? Mine still shows 21146 and revision 145 despite todays update.

Your ability to receive OTAs is fine. The problem is Ford's OTA process is garbage. None of those tricks work, so don't bother. You're at the mercy of waiting for Ford's random system to send you the next update.

Only APIM updates will have a chance to give you a newer Sync version. Any other module update will not update your sync version.

Edit: And, not every APIM update will automatically update your sync version.

Ok, is the 2.1.0 not displaying on screen normal too? Besides the app, nothing changed on the screen, just says "You're up to date". I'm skeptical if the update actually happened!

Didn't I check your VIN and confirm it went through?
