Power-up 2.8.1 keeps failing. Truck is connected to Wi-Fi, locked, windows closed, hood latched and battery voltage is reading good. I’ve tried updating while having the battery on a charger and the update keeps failing. I haven’t had a issue with previous updates. I am curious if anything is shown in the vehicle history.

 

Funny I was just about to post the exact same issue. I was one of the unlucky folks with the 2.7.1 failures that never went through back in October. Now Ford is pushing 2.8.1 and it's constantly failing.

I see the update in your queue and I see it has failed numerous times due to this issue. This particular update is notorious for this. Try driving it for a half hour and/or leave it on the charger for a few hours and then try it again. Many people have had to initiate the update many times before it just went through. PITA, I know, but there isn't much more you can do asides from what you are doing.

Same exact thing goes for you. Good to see Ford rolling out updates old and new.

 

Thanks for the feedback, crazy the hurdle this update has been. My commute is short 15-ish minutes and trickle charger was placed on the truck after parking at 5PM every night. Updates are schedule to install around 9-930pm so the charger has plenty of time to keep up a max charge before the install begins. Just pure craziness.

 

Thank you for checking. I'll try a longer charge this weekend. I had the battery on the charger for 4 hrs last night and it still failed and the charger shows the battery is full too.

 

I failed to get 2.8.1 to load back in October when I was on the road and couldn’t keep the truck on a charger. I have gotten nothing since. Good to see that 2.8.1 is getting pushed out again, but wouldn’t you know it, I am on the road again until next week. Hope now it doesn’t push to me again until I get home.

Has anyone that got the 3.5.3.2 update been able to get the full screen to work with with Carplay or A.A ? I have an XLT with the 8" screen and got the update yesterday but can't get it to work. Wondering if maybe it's only available on higher end models.

 

I just got 3.5.3 this evening. Hopefully 3.5.3.2 and 3.5.4 will come soon….

 

You were sent 3.5.3 at noon, it downloaded the first 3 files and then timed it and failed 4 hours later. Very strange. This is the fastest I have seen this update time out and fail. That sucks.
