I just checked mine as well. App says mine was updated on the 16th. Not sure if any of the remote features work yet but my location finally updated after almost a week.

Glad I wasn’t the only one with issues with this update. I’ve read of others removing the negative terminal which apparently resets the modem and gets it back. What a pain though.

People with much more knowledge than me have mentioned that this 4.2.1 GWM update possibly fixes all the connectivity issues that have been plaguing the 2023 model year trucks. There should be zero apprehension about getting this update and installing it. It has been verified to be a good update and a precursor update for bluecruise 1.2 (for bluecruise equipped trucks). This is not an update that requires the vehicle to be inhibited, so there is no way of preventing this update from installing when it is sent to you.

I believe 4.2.1 also sets up the update for the TCU that's getting ready to be sent out OTA for MY23 F150s. My 23 has been plagued with the modem issue since day one off and on. After work yesterday I used my shop-issued VCM3 and computer and I saw there was a TCU update available in FDRS yesterday so I did it and my modem has finally come back to life.

So it seems they are getting ready to start pushing the fix out via OTA shortly since it's showing up via FDRS.

Interesting. So your truck got 4.2.1, and then you performed a network scan and had a TCU update show up?

I'm not entirely sure how long the update has been available(I normally just scan it once a week since I knew that they were releasing the update soon) ,but yes I got 4.2.1 on 3/10 . Before then I had no updates available.

So if my location hasn't changed since the location where the update was installed would you recommend I remove the negative terminal to reset the modem or just take it in? I came back to the truck after leaving it a few hours to find the update installed notice and a notice saying the remote features were disabled because the truck sat for an extended period of time.

If it gave you an error about the truck sitting for a long time, it may have gone into sleep mode to conserve battery. You may need to get your battery checked out. If you provide you VIN, myself or someone else can check to see if your truck is recording any DTC's associated with low battery voltage.

Is this one of those "we'll get it whenever we get it" updates? I see some other 2022 Job 1 trucks who were the same Build Week (1/24/2022) as me have already received it. I don't really trust my FordPass to tell me - it doesn't even show the windshield wiper motor recall althought I received a letter from Ford.
