@rugedraw Would you be able to look up my VIN please? I just took delivery of the vehicle on 2/9/23. A huge thanks in advance.

Not strictly a Software update but here is the post I did on another thread (What did you do to your 14th gen today?) It's about adding a permanent hook-up for my NOCO Genius charger. Supports the update anyway.

NOCO Charger battery cable permanent install

Thanks I went and looked:

I had missed this and thought that I had to have the dealer do this update. they were going to charge $300+ so I had not taken it in. I am really excited for this if I can get it to hit my Job 1 truck.

I used mine yesterday. Truck is 2 weeks old with 800 miles. Picked up a living room chair at the furniture store. Turned the bed camera on as I pulled out of parking lot. It stays on but the factory tri fold cover takes about half the view away. Works great though.

thanks. I didn't do anything and just waited till this morning, and it was back online. No clue what happened, but it was unavailable for about 36 hours, roughly.

I use this feature frequently. Once in a while mine is a little glitchy and will cut out after several seconds. And sometimes when I go back to camera view, I have to reselect the bed view, but other times it sticks from my last selection of it. Pretty minor things. Overall, I leverage it a lot to check on the tie-downs and such.

Folks, is there a minimum battery voltage that has been found to cause non updating (sorry if I missed it in the thread)? I'm scheduled tonight for update 2.8.1, it failed to update last week and then again back in the fall. Last week I checked battery voltage and the truck was 11.90 volts and I put a battery tender on it 4 hours prior to the scheduled time for the update, the next morning "update fail" and battery voltage was ~12.2V. I'm going to try a bigger battery charger tonight.

Early in January I had to reset the battery monitoring system (BMS) because features on the truck stopped working, I believe deep sleep mode because the battery voltage was under the limit. Once I reset, all the features returned.

2021 F150, Job 1, VIN: 1FTFW1E86MKE03164

Thank you.

I think 11.9v is considered to be at roughly 40-45% charge. Here is a table I found years ago showing the general State of Charge values:

I am not sure what Ford requires for the update.

EDIT: After looking further, it seems this previous table is not specific to AGM batteries. The numbers are more of the standard flooded lead acid battery SOC values. Here is a different table I found that is supposed to be more specific for AGMs. I claim no personal knowledge on this topic, so it is just data available on this site:

https://workshoppist.com/agm-battery-state-of-charge/

One other bit of info I had not read was around the size of charger that can/should be used. It seems AGMs recommend a charger with a 10A or lower rating such that the battery is not charged too fast. Fast-charging AGMs with higher amperage units can purportedly damage the battery.

Went out to the truck today and it says "Priority Update- 22PU0706-SCH-POPA" but it does not have a date.
No OTA history in the past 60 days. That update you got is one of two your truck gets before they sent you 3.5.2. You just gotta be patient and wait for them.

Still nothing. Based on your Sync version, you are a bit behind. They don't push out the older updates very often.

No OTA history in the past 60 days. The last OTA your truck got was October of last year, but since it is past 60 days, I can't see which one is was.

Your OTA trigger was created on 2/7 which means you have 4 days to get that update to go through before you will be stuck months waiting for it to be resent to you. The truck must be parked and inhibited for 1.5-2 hours while it installs. If you don't have one, buy or borrow an AGM battery charger 10amp minimum. Park you truck and connect the battery charger to it in the evening. Leave the charger on there for hours before you schedule the update on your touchscreen. Set the update for 4am or something so it does not kick of until battery has been charging for hours. When you schedule the update, set your headlights to off, turn on the parking brake and double click the lock button on your key fob when you walk away. Good luck.

I haven’t had an OTA update since I bought my truck in 2021, and have been doing my updates via FDRS. Magically today my first PowerUp showed up! Something about trailer backup and license plate lights. Good to know my hardware was fully functional.
