It's more than just Sync. You have to be "enabled" on the other end, which Google controls.

I updated my truck myself (FDRS) to 3.5.4 two weeks ago. My AA (8.8.130404-release via APK, but also had/have 8.6.625054-release, which is the Play Store version) doesn't go full-screen map, just the pseudo full-screen with map on the left and other AA app card on the right.

That is a screenshot from a mesh network system called Eero. It shows each device connected to the local network and how much data was uploaded/downloaded. I have the same one at home.

The update failed to complete its download. Can't make much out of the error message though:

At this point you'll have to wait for Ford to have it attempt the install again.
