They might, yes. The thing is, your truck may have several updates pending for the BCM if you are far behind. They would have to update your BCM several times before it gets to the update that has potential issues. The dealers have no idea this update is available or that it has issues as it was just released from Ford.

I find it unlikely they update anything at all lol. Sad but true. BUT it is certainly a possibility. However, the two known issues are both with the Quad beam LED's not the projectors.

Hmmm, can they get around the SecuriAlert? Is there any way to remotely check the multiple DTC codes they say my truck is throwing?
Below are the most recent DTC codes your truck recorded.

Thanks - really appreciate the info!!

Wow - with all those codes, it's a wonder my BC works correctly. Just drove more than 3,000 miles roundtrip up the east coast from SW FL to NYC and used BC all the time on I-95 with no problems. Let's see what the dealer says tomorrow.

They want the rental car back to give me a loaner. Claim the tech is still working on my truck - even though my SecuriAlert indicates no one has even opened any of the locked doors since I dropped it off on Monday. Of course, I'll mention that and share their response.

Every single truck I've checked including my own throws out codes. As long as your truck itself isn't having any issues, I wouldn't stress the DTC's. I stopped checking my own truck because it was driving me crazy seeing them. lol

Default It's been a lengthy process....

...and I'm still not there.
I bought a job1 2021 Platinum Powerboost with 6500 miles on it the first week in Nov. I have been in the market for over a year and finally managed to get a reasonable deal. I came to the forum to find out if anyone else had been struggling with the OTA updates since my truck did not have BC installed yet. I live in the middle of the DFW metro and called the big mid cities dealers looking for someone to install the updates after seeing the TSB on this forum. Nobody wanted to and they made sure I would go away by quoting me 2-4 week repair times and no loaner. I called Ford Customer service and a very aggressive rep took over my cause and somehow convinced Grapevine Ford to try the install. He also arranged to get me a loaner thru FMC while the truck was in for service.
I took the truck in Nov 28th and was told if I didn't need a replacement driveshaft as the result a recall they were going to take care of at the same time, i should have truck back by Fri the 2nd. I called on that Friday and they said they had spent 24 man hours trying to install the updates and they finally got it to work. they were going to perform the recall work and I should be able to pick it up on Mon the 5th. I got a call on Monday saying come get it it's ready. I asked if a tech test drove it (as required by the TSB) to make sure it works because I had not received notification thru FordPass that BC was available. She said that they where absolutely certain it had installed and that they had documentation to prove it (strange response). She went on to say that I would have to contact Ford and pay for a subscription before BC would be available. I knew that was wrong but I called Ford CS and confirmed that if it had been installed, I would have received notification within 4-5 hours thru FordPass. I asked the CS rep to call my dealership and explain that to them. Another week went by and Dec. 9th I got a call that my case had been escalated and they where waiting on next steps from Ford. This past Friday they said it had been escalated again and they were now waiting for next steps from Ford Tech. For the entire time they have had my truck I have been asking them to read the most recent TSB which specifically states that if a vehicle rejects the update multiple times that modules are to be suspect. I feel I'm being ignored.

Just finished this kludge with many trial and errors. Long story short, I got the system to update with the USB, however, it seems to be stuck in a loop with he message: RESTART THE VEHICLE TO COMPLETE THE UPDATE. (Something to that effect) . Happens every time the ignition is cycled. Anyone have experience with this?

System doses not seem to be actually updated, still has the old sync info. 🤔

You need to turn the ignition off, open the door and let it power down like that for at least 10 minutes.
