Well, I was updated to 3.5.4. yesterday and I've noticed that I'm experiencing some glitching (so far specifically with Waze).
When I start my navigation I am fine, however if I am in full screen AA and then exit fulscreen and go back to fullscreen, I lose my ability to cancel my route and I lose the hamburger button to modify my route.
I also am getting an intermittent glitch where the street names and icons are not properly showing.
If I disconnect my phone (I use corded AA as I am connected to a VPN 95% of the time and AA doesn't allow wireless AA with a VPN) and reconnect it, all is fixed, but as soon as I exit FS and go back, I have the same issue.
I've attached some photos for reference, anyone else having similar issues?
I can cancel and modify my route.
After exiting Fullscreen AA and then going back to Fullscreen AA my options to modify/cancel my route are gone.
Example of some glitching I'm getting with street names and icons.
I just imagined they would do that when they have the truck in regardless of me saying anything.
Nope. They only update if it's required for a repair/recall/TSB, and when they do, it's only for the specific module(s) they are working on. If you go a long time in between service visits, you could have upwards of a dozen or more outstanding SW updates, which would take them hours and hours to complete. No way are they paying a tech for hours of work without charging someone for it.
For whatever reason mine truck never updates when its connected to wifi in my driveway (almost full bars of wifi). Both times i got my 5.3 and 5.4 update was driving my son to track practice. After we got back into the truck it was updated. Strange... but maybe helpful if youre waiting for it to get updated through wifi.
IIRC, Ford has yet to send an OTA update the requires it to come via WiFi.
Thank you! My dealer has updated modules for me before without asking them, it took them about 8 hours to do it though. Everything was out of date and way behind schedule. Thats why I was wondering if I was behind again or that nothing has been pushed to my truck recently.
Your dealership was being generous because they like you, the tech was bored, or they were billing Ford for it. They don't make money by paying a tech for eight hours and not billing anyone.
I still can’t get Apple CarPlay to display full screen. Keep checking and says no updates available. I have Automatic Updates enabled and in range of home Wi-Fi. If someone can suggest something, I’m willing to try anything.
Lots of people think that button works like the one on your cell phone or computer does. It doesn't.

Yeah, there are no tricks or parking brake sets or anything. That's all just correlation not causation. You get updates when your VIN comes up on the batch of updates Ford sends out. In time they will get better about it and it will almost certainly behave more like a cell phone, but for now it's best not to stress about it and just wait. I have had my F-150 since May 2021 so I have received over a dozen OTA updates, and they have always come the same way. Nothing for weeks and maybe months, then one day I get one, and as long as it's applied that day I usually get a chain of them, one per day. Happened that way with the group of BlueCruise updates, happened just recently with the full screen/Alexa updates, etc. My wife has a Mach-e and hers have been the same. She got updates in December, and then nothing until a week ago, and she got there updates in a row, one per day. Nothing was done different for either of us, it's just a matter of when your "number" is up.
