Could I get an FDRS status on any modules that need to be updated please: VIN:1FTFW1ED7MFC95188

 

I know the 2.8.1 update was discussed 10 or so pages back. Has anyone had success with the battery tender technique or should I go ahead and schedule a service appointment at the local dealer? I have tried many methods shorty of a tender(which I do not have) and the 2.8.1 update continues to fail for the last few weeks. Any input will be helpful.

 

When I had one of my updates fail I disconnected my battery for about 10min, then reconnected it and the update installed.

im trying for the 6th time in 3 days to down load 2.8.1 , previously it would die to low battery voltage, I have a charger hooked up right. Im doing a 12volt low charging while doing a down load right , haven’t gotten the Fordpass message for once about attempting a download and was unsuccessful, , we will see in a couple hours, nothing is on the screen showing a down load yet ? Is there supposed to be??? When it started downloading the truck made some
clicking noises I never heard while attempting the previous try’s , hope that means it going good, also changed wifi to my 5g-2g ext channel

Maybe try the battery terminal disconnect, could be the system has to many failed attempts it is stuck in a update loop?

Anyone able to look up VIN 1FTFW1E89MFA67437 to see why this 2 8.1 fails? Trickle charger, manual attempts and scheduled attempts... failures. Thanks!

 

2.8.1 is the one that f'd mine all up. All updates were going fine until that one. Pre-collision assist, cruise control all stopped working after that one, however 2.8.2 and 2.8.3 downloaded fine. Got the message about blue cruise being activated and all.. However, without cruise control, BC is useless. Took it to the dealer, they said that the trailer brake controller recall and update was causing some issues for people. They had to replace a module, however as of yesterday, they were having problems programming the new one. They were supposed to get on the phone with Ford and hopefully get it right. I need my truck for a trip tomorrow, so I get it back today fixed or not... Hopefully fixed.
